I'm not sure how you should get rid of red marks, but you can prevent bumps by exfoliating before you get it done. By the way,
bikini zone is garbage. It doesn't work at all, at least for me.

go to your drugstore and buy some bikini zone cream. It works great for that.. no bumps, no itching,nothing... I have used it for a couple years now...Its called Bikini Zone and its over the counter..no prescription required

I buy a gel called "bikini zone". It is soothing and helps cut down on irritation.

I read in a magazing recently that you should ;
Get cotton balls and soak them with witch hazel.
Then rub the area.
The bumps come from ingrown curly hair, and the witch hazel prevents it from growing back curly. Hope it helps. : ]
