find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

The best answer I can give is variety. Going to the gym and doing the same exercises can get monotonous and causes people to give up on the weight loss programs. Try mixing weight training two days a week and then cardio the other three, alternating days.

Get a subscription to a health related magazine (such as Mens or Womens Health), they provide picture examples of different workouts and also have meal recipes that you can try.

For the food portion, make sure to always eat a healthy breakfast (should include dairy of some kind. I try to make a smoothie, using a cup of yogurt that I freeze the night before. Mix in some bananas, strawberries, peaches and pear. Blend well and enjoy, it is quick and portable. Experiment with the combinations to find what you like best.

For food portions remember this saying - for breakfast - eat like a king, for lunch - eat like a prince and for dinner - eat like a pauper.

Spending time each day with a healthy mindest is good. Spend time reading a health related magazine, plan food for tomorrow, go to the gym, go to a nutrition store and window shop. All of these are examples of ways to spend time in a heathly mindset.

Eat a lot of fruits and veggies. Don't eat fast food even the "healthy" items at fast food restaurants aren't that healthy. Cut down on the red meat. Don't eat fatty or greasy foods. And stay away from sugars as much as possible. Oh and the top thing stay away from coke...regular and diet. Both are horrible for you. If possible stay away from juices also because they have so much sugar in them. Try drinking only water and herbal teas.
As for exercises the best would be any aerobic exercise to get your heart rate up.

Eating healthy is easier said than done. I've heard dieticians and nutritionists say this "Don't eat anything that comes out of a package" meaning, twinkies, chips, etc. I would starve. What you should do is follow the food pyramid and eat serving sizes according to the package. (I know, if you're not eating from a package, how will you know serving size?)
As for exercise, are you trying to bulk up, or lose weight? If you're trying to lose weight you want to do cardio, quick repetative movements. If you are interested in bulking up, life weights. Hope this helps.

Thats really awesome. I would talk to someone that works at the gym. I'd just ask what they would reccomend. That way you'd have the best workout and you don't push yourself too hard at first.

Good luck!!

Cardio. Also, if you have trouble eating right, start slow. Instead of white bread, try whole wheat. Instead of white rice, try brown rice. Instead of regular pasta, try wheat pasta. Another thing too....try to cut-out as many "sweet" drinks as possible (i.e. soda, juice, etc.). Drink plenty of water. And one more important thing....eat more often, but eat small portions and more of the "right" things.
