Try some kind of exercise. Go for a long walk if you can, if not try to exercise where your at. Exercise helps with stress and can burn off some of that excess energy.

Honey, pick up the phone and call your community's mental health hot line. These are caring and professional people who will listen, help you sort things out and who tell you what to do next. It sounds like you have had not only a terrible day but that things are "piling up" inside of you and that you need a course of action. This has happened to me many times in my younger years:

In my 20's and 30's I felt like I could never relax. I was always like a powder keg ready to explode. I had very few friends because of my problems and short fuse and I would always head for the bottle, the bong or the needle. I abused just about every chemical you can become addicted to. The only drug I didn't try was LSD because I KNEW that if I popped a hit of "acid" I would probably be in the mental hospital for the rest of my days....I knew my brain wasn't wired like most people's.

Finally after 3 failed marriages, no friends and no course of action, I sought the help of an internist. He prescribed an antidepressant. This was 10 years ago and I have never looked back. I got also 10 years of community psychiatric counseling and have been to the AA and NA support groups. I learned that I have an addictive personality with paranoid/depressed features. I knew I had to keep on this course or I would end up dead and/or in prison.

Good luck, dear. You are in our thoughts. Let me know how you are doing, honey!

There are a lot of things I do when I feel like this; the first thing that I would suggest is going for a walk..preferably somewhere quiet (like not down a busy road)...just walk and breathe and try to calm down by doing that. You could also listen to some music; write in a journal about what you're frusterated with; take a drive; meditate; take a nap; or go do something fun that you like to do (see a movie; buy something!; go to the gym) etc... I'm not sure how old you are or what kind of person you are - but one of those things should help a little. Good luck...I know how you feel and it sucks.

Things like this happen all the time. People say to watch TV or a movie, but like you said...you cant stay still. People may say to let it out by talking to others, but sometimes you may not want to speak others at the moment, especially since your own friends got you to that state. What I do normally in this situation is work out at home while watching an action/drama movie. I get to move around, put effort in something, leave my mind wander with the movie, and listen to what is happening while doing other things.

Multitasking pretty much in stuff that gets your mind out of that depressing state, and relaxes you by relaxing your mind. Do things at ease also, just move at your convenience and try to enjoy this time to yourself. Comedies also help at times since laughter can be great cure to brighten your day. Or music, whatever you prefer.

The beauty of your situation is that your are free to start your day all over at anytime of the day. Relax, watch TV nap, have a snack call a friend

Try exercising. It helps me alot. Yesterday I was having a bad day and I went to track practice and for the rest of the day i was happy. It takes your mind off things and also makes you want food and makes it easier to sleep.

Try taking a walk or taking a hot shower. That helps me to calm my nerves. It also helps to watch something you like or read a good book that you enjoy. I wish you luck dear.

When I get like that, I go in my bedroom and pound the stuffing out of a pillow until I am too tired to move.

Is there anyone you can talk to about what is bothering you? Have you tried going for a walk or exercising? Maybe that will help you to relax.
