It's normal. She is probably growing. Let her sleep as much as she wants. As long as she isn't sick, and she is eating ok and growing, I wouldn't worry about it. Better enjoy it...pretty soon she isn't going to want to sleep at all!

I've done some sleep walking as an adult (though my sister was the one who had it *bad* as a child.) It's a bit dangerous with a toddler, so I would be a bit concerned, though there is nothing you can really do to stop it. When I, personally, have gone through periods of sleep walking and had incidents of sleep paralysis and night terrors, it was because I was over-tired and stressed. I doubt a toddler is experiencing as much stress as I was during those periods, but it wouldn't hurt to make sure he's getting enough sleep and is not over stimulated before bed time. Just make sure the room is very, very safe and he can't get out of it. Many children grow out of these things, though in my family, we all did them long past childhood. I seem to recall my parents attaching something like a bell to our bedroom door as children? This was after my sister was found standing in the shower, soaking wet. There must be something better available now - and if he's in your room, you could just lock the door.

RE:
Concerned toddler sleeping too much?
My daughter is 21 months old and she sleeps about 15 hours at night and has a 3 hour nap during the day. If i wake her up early than she is very cranky and has to have like 2 three hour naps. For example last night she went to bed at 9:30 and woke up this afternoon at 12:50. I just hope nothing is...

You should take your child in for a blood panel. Sleeping too much is not always explained by "your child is growing" wouldn't you rather have your child fully checked out then look back and say - what if...
My son sleeps 7pm - 8am then naps at 9:30 - 11:30 then 2:30-4:30 then bed at 7, pretty much every single day. The times may adjust but overall he sleeps 17 hours a day. Turns out he has sleep apnea, which can have serious lifelong effects. Everybody told me I should "be happy" and "enjoy" that he sleeps so much. In my opinion that's not a good answer. You are obviously concerned, so do your diligence and get her checked out.

Your child is fine. My son can sleep 12-13 hours his self and his doctor told me that was fine. When children are on a growing spurt they need a lot of sleep. If you think that something is wrong call her doctor but they will tell you the same thing. Let her sleep and be happy, because you could have a child that don't sleep at all. My son is now 5 years old and still sleeps 12-13 hours him self and I let him sleep. He is a very outgoing child and needs all of his sleep.

A couple thoughts. Why is he sleeping in your room? Snoring can indicate a medical problem. My son was snoring, and my first thought was, "oh, how cute," but then the doctor told me it can indicate a problem with tonsils and/or adenoids. He had his removed shortly after he started snoring, by the way. He is now 6, and he does sleep walk a couple times a week. I always take him into the bathroom and try to get him to go, then get him back in his bed. I used to sleep walk as a kid, and I grew out of it. Kids around 3 often get up and get into bed with their parents. It's normal at that age, whether or not they are "sleep walking," lots of kids do it. Just keep putting him back in his own bed.

Kids need a lot of rest, check out the parenting sites and they tell you the amount. Try putting her to bed earlier so she gets up a bit earlier. My kids go to bed at 7:30 and sleep to about 7:00, they can sleep over 4 hours during the day.

15 hours is a very long time for a child to sleep.I personally don't think thats normal! I have 4 kids, my youngest is 21 months old and none of my children EVER slept that long not even when they were sick.I would suggest you talk to your dr and see what they say or you can try looking it up on the internet.
