It is a virus spread through the digestive tract (like the stomach flu). They can get it by smelling another dog or smelling the dirt where another dog has been. Parvo can lie dormant in the dirt or in a home for years and then infect another dog. Be sure to have your puppy's vaccines to keep him safe. Parvo kills dogs.

I used to work at a vet clinic and puppies can get parvo very easily, from contact with another dog that may have parvo or come into contact with a dog that has parvo. They can pick it up from the ground from dog droppings or you can even carry it home on your shoes into contact with your dog. It is easily carried around and puppies almost always die from getting it, the cost to save a pup with parvo is a lot.

Puppies get parvo from feces of other dogs.
This can be from smelling other dogs, coming in direct contact with feces, broughtin on your shoues, being taken out especcially before all teh boosters are given.
This is a very deadly virus. If you even have the slightest idea your pup is infected don't waite take to the vets depending on size can kill very fast. the disease doesn't show for 7-10 days so by the time you notice the signs it's had it for a whole DO NOT WAITE TO GET TO VET
Also as your vet for anythiong tehy can give you about parvo as well as teh other diseases they can get.

Probably the most overlooked place for a puppy to catch Parvo is off the floor at the vets office when you take it there for a Parvo shot!!
Don't know why it is but people keep taking their sick dogs there never thinking that you will be walking in with your puppy two minutes behind them.
KEEP YOUR PUPPY OFF THE FLOOR!!!

The vaccine is to stay away from parvo it would not therapy parvo, only a chain of fluids will help a canines recover from parvo, intravenous fluids, i'm sorry yet there is not any prescription or magic tablet you're able to be able to supply a puppy to rid them of parvo, in the adventure that your canines has parvo only a vets care will with a bit of luck save him, maximum die a painful death if no longer dealt with. As for intestinal worms you like a prescription from the vet, OTC wormers do no longer artwork. in case you are able to no longer arise with the money for to precise shield your puppy please sign him over to the vets and enable them to hit upon him a house which could arise with the money for acceptable scientific care. i'm sorry even with the undeniable fact that this is unlawful to no longer grant a ill canines with scientific care.

I have been told that parvo can stay in the ground for seven years. Its not as dangerous to grown dogs but most puppies die from it.
