If you're not allergic to it, take an over-the-counter antihistimine like Benadryl, either liquid or tablet form... there's lots of generic/store brands.
Wash the skin in hot soapy water to wash off the poison ivy active ingredient (urishiol oil) , and then apply Caladryl to the affected area. If it's around your eyes, use Visine eyedrops.
You really *don't* need to see a doctor unless the poison ivy's covering a huge part of your body, if you can't take any antihistimines, or if you start having a severe allergic reaction to the poison ivy other than the scratchy red rash.

That pink Calamine Lotion stuff is what I've always used.
It doesn't get rid of it but it helps with the itchiness a lot.
Pretty much anything that would help dry it up faster will help.
When you get poison ivy/oak the oils from the leaves get in your skin and it causes a reaction and make you itch.
So when you put stuff like Calamine Lotion on it, it's helping to dry up the oils that got on your skin from the leaves.

You really should go to the doctor! But to make it feel better - make a paste with warm water, oatmeal, and baking soda. Apply to area.

Oh, you poor baby. I feel for you! Go to your nearest pharmacy and ask him for the best remedies. Much cheaper than a doc and just as accurate.

You can't get rid of it - it has to run its course. Scrubbing it with lye soap helps mine dry up faster.
