Pregnancy in cats should be determined as early as possible following mating. Early diagnosis helps ensure proper care. Pregnancy diagnosis can be accomplished by the following methods:
abdominal palpation of the uterus, individual fetuses, and fetal membranes from 20 to 30 days
x-ray of the abdomen from about 40 days
ultrasonic Doppler detection of placenta 1 circulation and fetal heartbeat from about the 4th week
enlargement and pink color of the teats and mammary glands from about day 18
ultrasound from day 18
The pregnancy will normally last for sixty-five days and you will need to provide a nice warm place for your cat to have her kittens. It can be a box lined with old newspapers, you will need to use several layers so that dirty layers can be removed as necessary to enable each kitten, as it is born, to be kept dry and warm. Keep the box in a quiet place without too much light and away from the usual household noise. Your pregnant cat will need to feel secure, and should be introduced to her new environment so she can start to get ready to" nest" You may think that your chosen location for her kittens to be born is excellent, but cats are really good mothers, wanting the best for their kittens, and will often want to give birth else ware, so you may have to move the "birthing box" to a new location if that is what "mum" wants!

Youll have to take her to a vet to be certain. They can do an xray to see if there are kittens in there or not. Also depending on how far along she is you can have her spayed if the kittens havent developed completely. You can touch her stomach and try to feel for the kittens.

Does she have nipples? Usually around the 11th day, a cat will develop teetes(nipples) The gestation period is 63 days. Cats naturally do not like to have their tummies rubbed, or the bottom of their feet.

Many cats, even very friendly inside cats, will bite or nibble at you if you touch their stomachs. If she's got ripple in her tummy, she probably is expecting. You might want to keep your son from touching her belly even after the pregnancy.

the question should be why did you let your cat get pregnant and why did you not have her spayed. Visit your local shelter this summer and see all the newborn kittens that need homes, Stop adding to the problem. Get your cat spayed as soon as you can.

It sounds possible. the best theing is to take to the vets they caan do 1 of three things .
1) palpate which is to feel for kittens
2)do xrays
3) sonogram.
I would just watch her with your child as there really shouldn't be any reason to bite unless he is squeezing her to hurt her.
Good luck

Could be. Only way to tell for sure is a vet check. But if she is, I'd keep your son from pushing on her belly, it could result in him getting scratched or bitten.
