For all that are against war in Iraq, when the war comes to your front door will you fight then?

As a member of the military, who would fight in Iraq if sent, the answer is of course yes. Your question implies that all people who are against the war in Iraq are against defending our nation or fighting terrorists. Sadly, there is little evidence to support the conclusion that Iraq posed a serious threat to our interests prior to our toppling of Saddam Hussein. This war is now diverting assets from Afghanistan, where the Taliban continues to be a problem, and from Pakistan, where Bin Laden is still squirrled away.

The fact that I don't agree with the Iraq war has nothing to do with my willingness to defend the nation.

unfortunately the war will never come to our front door...terrorist know they will never win a direct confrontation with the US military. So they resort to cowardly terrorist attacks. Fortunately 9/11 was a "state sponcered act" to a certain extent allthough the structure of afghanistan is all jacked up. Point is we where able to attack afghanstan since afghanistan was providind training camps for alqaida...etc. As time goes on and as we all discuss this over yahoo answers terrorist are plotting ways on how to attack the US every minute. Unfortunately many americans dont realize how much of threat these extreme islamics are. As they gain more funds and more technology they will soon be able to attack us with unconventional weapons and by other means and we wont even be able to target any country or retaliate since we cant prove the origin of the attack. VERY ******* scarry if you ask me. Even if bush is not president they have declared all out war with close and far enemies.

If the war comes home, the sheep will demand the sheepdog to fight their battle. Perhaps they will accuse the sheepdog (warriors) of being in the wrong place allowing the wolf to come, despite the fact that it is the sheepdogs' aggressively taking the fight to the wolf that has allowed the sheep to sleep so soundly after playing soldier on the latest HALO game and watching Entertainment Tonight.

But just like after 9/11, they will again appreciate the sacrifices the sheepdog (LE/military) makes and want him around again!

I don't know about the war in Iraq coming here but I do know that terrorists are alive & well in your own backyard. Does 9/11 ring a bell. It may have only affected NY, DC & a field in PA but whose to say it won't be your city next?!

There is no guarantee that the war will come to our front doors

There is no guarantee that us being in Iraq will keep the war from coming to our front doors

There is no guarantee that us being in Iraq might not be making the war come to our front doors all the more sooner...

There are a lot of folks who have fought the war in Iraq honorably that are against it


You would have been better off asking, "If the Global War on Terror (GWOT) comes to your front door, will you fight?"

My answer would be yes.

maybe you should check the news, GWB de-classified some intel that states Bin Laden tasked his #2 with creating a cell to attack the US and those attacks were thwarted. Doesn't this prove that the fighting there to keep them away from here is false?
