I lived in Nevada when I was 18 and got caught for shoplifting. I did not take care of it because I was moving to California the next day and I was 18 with the lack of responsibility that entails. That was about 17 years ago, and I've been in California ever since. What is the statute of limitations for shoplifting? It was minor, less than $10.

Usually about three years. However it sounds as if you were arrested and there still could be a warrant out for your arrest, but I doubt it very seriously!

If you have been in-state for 17 years and not been found I am sure a warrant, ot Capias, does not exist. Usually what you did are misdemeanors!
