I usually get them once I bite any part of my mouth/tongue and open a wound as result. they are so irritating and I have tried many OTC products that usually just numb the pain, not cure the problem. I don't mind the pain but I mind the healing process taking forever.

Swish with a salt water rinse. Or if you can handle it, you can put the salt directly on the ulcer.

Another thing you can do is mix ½ peroxide and ½ mouthwash solution together. Please don't put the peroxide straight into your mouth as it is strong and can purn your oral tissue. By mixing the both together, you are diluting the peroxide and flavoring the peroxide because it taste horrible! This will clean and help to heal the ulcer faster. When rinsing with this solution, it will bubble alot. Continue to rinse with it until you can't keep the bubbles in your mouth any longer.

YES!! I have given this answer over and over and I don't think anyone has tried it.
I had a killer ulcer for 2 weeks and my mother in law told me to put alum on it. You can find Alum in the spice aisle, it's used in pickling.
I put a little on my finger and mashed it onto the sore, it hurts pretty bad but after a few minutes, maybe 5 minutes I took it off and rinsed my mouth. By the next day it was healing up and quit hurting. Within two days it was gone!
Amazing!
I will never suffer with another one!

Don't eat foods that irritate it either..best to skip out on animal flesh and byproducts if you do eat them regurally. If you put a piece of clove(the herb) on it it will help to numb it also. Otherwise patience..I hate these, can take a week or longer sometimes for them to completely heal..mostly because they reopen a lot. Gentle chewing..=) good luck.

actually the tissues of the lining of the mouth heal quicker than any other tissue in the body. what you feel is likely scar tissue and that takes a bit longer to be replaced by the mucous membranes.

Sounds like you're not taking your multi-vitamins. You may be deficient in b vitamins, zinc or iron. Also try an sls-free toothpaste (sodium laurel sulfate causes canker sores).
