I have tried citalopram, prozac, and now lofepramine, and none of them seem to be working, i still feel depressed and constantly tearful.

Is this my ED or depression, and why are the pills not working?

Minimum time needed for antidepressants to start taking effect is two to three weeks. It's not good idea to take this pills by yourself because you can do more damage than good. Go see a doctor, he will give you good therapy, also be sure to tell him about drugs you're taking for bulimia, he will know if those drugs can be taken at same time. Classic antidepressants like prozac work for most of the people, but must be taken strictly by the doctors instructions, otherwise they will not work, and it's important not to skip doses. I repeat, you must see a doctor, you cannot help yourself with pills. If you want to do something without doctor, try working out, physical activity is very good when you feel "down".

The only thing that I found negative when it can to anti-depressants and therapy is that they masked my emotions and stopped me from working through what was really wrong. I was on seroxat an SSRI very much it prozac, when I got off them I could work through my stuff and have made great progress. I wont deny that it's been really hard though. Talk to your therapist about it and see what they think. I mush also point out the my problems were different to yours as I have PTSD but you don't just have bulimia something triggers it.
Also most anti-depressants take 6 to 8 week to come in to full effect and you can feel very wobbly for that time.

I wish you loads of luck, stay strong xxx.

it can sometimes take many tries at finding the right med, you just have to hang in there until one works for you, be sure you give each one a six week trial before you give up on it.
I went thru 12 different drugs before we found one that worked for me.
