St. Augustine is a beautiful place for a destination wedding. Florida law let's out of state residents get a license the same day they apply for it (Florida residents must wait 3 days). If you need an officiant of more details, check out my website www.jaxnotary.com

Unless your fiancee is a chick I say good move NOT going to Key West; that place is worse than San Fran.
Now, I have traveled extensively and though not particularly fond of beaches, your choice of St. Augustine is a good one. Depending on what you're looking for (I obviously don't know all the details), you should also check out the west coast (Gulf) beaches as well as those tend to be a little better.
You mentioned distance in your question so I assume you're driving. IF you can work some airline flights into the whole thing, I strongly suggest heading to the central coast of California or Baja Mexico. While different, both are splendid places.

The beach is always a beautiful and romantic place to be. Just be aware of your timing. Don't plan your wedding within 5 or so weeks after the rainy season because there will undoubtedly be sand fleas. They are too small to really notice but their bites itch beyond belief, and the sites will bleed and scar (something no bride wants to deal with). I know that this leaves out mid-October through early December in the Cancun area, not sure about St. Augustine.

Yes St. Augustine is very nice. The beach is wonderful and Annistasia state park is beautiful for beach weddings also check out Washington Oaks just south of town and the botanical gargens (not a beach but really nice)

St. Augustine is as good of a place as any. I did not get married there, but honeymooned. It has a nice beach, is close to Jacksonville AND Daytona Beach, and is a nice, quiet, and quaint place in its own rite. I really like it there. It is small and cozy. Good eating. I give it a thumbs up.

St. Augustine is absolutely beautiful. My husband proposed to me there, we had gone there for the weekend. There are lots of things to do, it is very historic. Go to the chamber of commerce website for the city, they have a ton of information to get you started.
P.S. I recommend dinner at Opus 39, on SAville Street, or Harry's on the Bay.

Very romantic city, and with it being such an old city, oldest in the country if I remember correctly, there is an undertone of longevity. What better place to start a long and happy marriage. Lots of cool Inns and B&B's and food too!

I can't answer your question but I would prefer Niagara. That has water and sun and no beach bums!
