God does not make degree judgements as in all sin is too much sin. It is the reason Christ came ot the world because all have sinned. All have sinned and fallen short of God's glory the wages of sin is death. It is not implying that All sin is equal but that any sin is too much sin as God is righteous and we all fall short of his righteouness. It is the reason for the atonement.

this answer is based off of a Judeo-Christian understanding of the scriptures. some people may disagree.
Principle #1. God cannot tolerate sin that has not been forgiven. Sin and God cannot exist together. Any sin can keep us from God.
Principle #2. People are born into sin. It is in our nature. Even when we do not want to we sin. This prevents us from fellowship with God.
Principle #3. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. In the Old Testament the Jews sacrificed animals to provide this forgiveness. In the New Testament Christians believe that Christ was the ultimate blood sacrifice and that all you have to do is accept this gift of forgiveness to receive redemption of sin by the blood of Christ.
All that was the long way to say, God does not rate and rank sin. Sin is Sin is Sin. Only people rate sin.

Some sins are worse than others.. At the same time, in regards to both eternal consequences and salvation, all sins are the same. Each and every sin will lead to eternal condemnation..All sin, no matter how “small,” is against an infinite and eternal God, and is therefore worthy of an infinite and eternal penalty. Further, this is no sin too “big” that God cannot forgive it. So. are all sins equal to God: In severity? No. In penalty? Yes. In forgivability? Yes.

I wanna know about Graven Images. Islam appears to take this very seriously, and they have no representational art - which, interestingly, has led to some spectacular works of graphic design.
So as far as they're concerned, a graven image is literally that: any image of any of God's creations.
But Christians have simply redacted this so that only 'idols' count. You can paint, draw and photograph anything you like. Hell, you can even worship the images you make - or what else are people doing at American IDOL, huh?
How come this commandment is swept under the same carpet as 'no wool and linen' and 'no shellfish', while 'no boys shagging boys' is worth killing for?
Rough justice, I call it.

Here is part of history that religion doesn't want people to know. When Moses went up into the mountains, did he take a weeks supply of food? No, he foraged for food (picked anything that could be chewed and swallowed and ate it). If poor Moses picked the wrong plant it could cause a person to hallucinate (Mugwort, Peyote Cactus and lots of other wild plants contain hallucinogens. But biblical people didn't know about those things. For all we know. Moses could have encountered a UFO and he called it God.

it depends on the context.
a starving man stealing a piece of bread from a bakery is not on the same level as two married people having an extended extramarital sexual affair.
On the other hand, a man who was emotionally abandoned by his wife, and falls in love with a single woman does not commit the same level of sin as a man who commits an armed robbery against a family owned business.

All sins separate us from God. A sin is a sin is a sin.
Galatians 5: 19 - 24
"19Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21envy,[a] drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires."

The Bible says that all sins are equal, all are the same, and equally bad. However, he also forgives all of the sins in the same way. So, it's still ok.
I know it's hard to think that, I find it hard to agree with too, but in God's eyes, a sin is a sin.....

Yes, but he judges people differently; for example, David committed adultery and conspiracy to murder and is described as a man after God's own heart; while others were struck dead for touching a gold box.
It's good to be the king.
