Exercise doesn't have to be anything boring, because if it is, you're not going to stick with it. You can incorporate a few sit ups into your routine here and there but you're right that that's something you don't want to do the whole time. Try something you will enjoy. It's a little strange and embarrassing but whenever I get bored I pulled the blinds closed, turn on the 80s music, and dance until I collapse from wheezing. Sounds crazy but I've lost almost all of my mommy belly from that. I can actually see my thighs again. :P

Whatever you decide to do--the ultimate thing that's going to keep you doing it is to have fun. You can even spice up the boring by using an exercise ball. It helps develop core muscles which makes it great for even people who have been in accidents or have injuries. Best wishes! :)

Sit ups do not make you loose weight in your stomach but they will tone you abdominal muscles which in turn may make you look pudgier if you have a layer of fat covering them. To get rid of belly fat you have to eat healthy and do cardio. The goal is to burn more calories then you intake on a daily basis. When you have achieved that then you will see the fat coming off of you stomach and other areas. The idea of spot reduction is not true and doesn't work.

sit ups build muscle they dont burn fat and would only make your belly look bigger.
the only fat burning exercise is cardio
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

It is a fallacy that abdominal exercises target the fat that sits above them. To lose belly fat, you need to simply lose body fat, and you do that by diet and any sort of aerobic exercise.

If you insist on wasting your time with ab exercises, do leg lifts. Lie on your back and lift your legs a few inches off the ground, trying to keep them straight. Hold them up off the floor for a few seconds. Put them down. Repeat.

Sit ups won't get rid of belly fat anyway. Cut the carbs, walk fast, drink lots of water. If you join like (jazzercise or something similar) you will lose it faster. Try to do it with someone else. Good luck.

No specific exercise can target belly fat, you just need to work on overall fat reduction.

The best way to lose weight on your stomach is cycling (as you are essentially crunching your stomach as you are lifting your legs) and running. Not sure why you can't do situps so I'm not sure if these are appropriate options for you.

in order to lose fat you have to do cardio...doing sit ups will just build the abdominal muscles, do crunches where you dont have to get alll the way off the ground and cardio..cant emphasize that enough

lay on your back and bull your knees to your chest. Now turn your body around in a circle without using your arms or legs.

Then, you will have fun while burning off calories and slimming down.
Trust me, it works.
Also, take walks.
