Well, to better answer your question. here are our Military Rules for Non-Military Personnel:

Dear Civilians:

We know that the current state of affairs in our great nation have many civilians up in arms
and excited to join the military. For those of you who can't join, you can still lend a hand.
Here are a few of the areas where we would like your *ssistance:

(1) The next time you see an adult talking (or wearing a hat) during the
playing of the National Anthem---kick their *ss.

(2) When you witness, firsthand, someone burning the American Flag
in protest---kick their *ss.

3) Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay the
highest amount of respect to all veterans. If you see anyone doing
otherwise, quietly pull them aside and explain how these veterans
fought for the very freedom they bask in every second. Enlighten
them on the many sacrifices these veterans made to make this Nation
great. Then hold them down while a disabled veteran kicks their *ss.

(4) (GUYS) If you were never in the military, DO NOT pretend that
you were. Wearing battle dress uniforms (BDUs), telling others that
you used to be "Special Forces," and collecting GI Joe memorabilia,
might have been okay when you were seven years old. Now, it will
only make you look stupid and get your *ss kicked.

(5) Next time you come across an Air Force member, do not ask them,
"Do you fly a jet?" Not everyone in the Air Force is a pilot. Such
ignorance deserves an *ss-kicking (children are exempt).

(6) If you witness someone calling the US Coast Guard 'non-
military', inform them of their mistake---and kick their *ss.

(7) Next time Old Glory (the US flag) prances by during a parade,
get on your damn feet and pay homage to her by placing your hand
over your heart. Quietly thank the military member or veteran lucky
enough to be carrying her---of course, failure to do either of those
could earn you a severe *ss-kicking.

(8) Don't try to discuss politics with a military member or a
veteran. We are Americans, and we all bleed the same, regardless of
our party affiliation. Our Chain of Command is to include our
Commander-In-Chief

(9) The President (for those who didn't know) is our Commander in Chief
regardless of political party. We have no inside track on what
happens inside those big important buildings where all those
representatives meet. All we know is that when those civilian
representatives screw up the situation, they call upon the military
to go straighten it out. If you keep asking us the same stupid
questions repeatedly, you will get your *ss kicked!

(10) 'Your mama wears combat boots' never made sense to me---stop
saying it! If she did, she would most likely be a vet and
therefore,

could kick your *ss!

(11) Bin Laden and the Taliban are not Communists, so stop saying
'Let's go kill those Commies!' And stop asking us where he is?
Crystal balls are not standard issue in the military. That reminds
me---if you see anyone calling those damn psychic phone numbers,
let me know, so I can go kick their *ss.

(12) 'Flyboy' (Air Force), 'Jarhead' (Marines), 'Grunt' (Army),
'Squid' (Navy), 'Puddle Jumpers' (Coast Guard), etc., are terms of
endearment we use describing each other. Unless you are a service
member or vet, you have not earned the right to use them. That could
get your *ss kicked.

(13) Last, but not least, whether or not you become a member of the
military, support our troops and their families.

Every Thanksgiving and religious holiday that you enjoy with family and friends,
please remember that there are literally thousands of sailors and troops
far from home wishing they could be with their families.

Thank God for our military and the sacrifices they make every day.
Without them, our country would get its *ss kicked."

It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press.

It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.

It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.

It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag,

and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag."

If you can read this, thank a teacher.

If you are reading it in English, thank a veteran.

Abide by these and we will all get along fine.

Check ot this DOD site...... It has recruitment figure released in April.

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/news/2007/05/mil-070510-dod01.htm

Then go down near the bottom and click on who is joining the military.

If you read it what it comes down to is exposing the fallacies of who is joining. It clearly shows that those who are joining are mostly the solid middle class who actually score higher in math/verbal even in that demographic. Not those from urban or from poorer families who you would think would have the most reason to take advantage of the opportunity. Its not the people who have no choice who join. This blows Rosies thing out of the water.

She is just following the antigovernment liberal party line with no real information to back up what she says.

On a related note..... 3000 so troops have died. Half are white, half that are Hispanic (that begs a question for another time) and half that are african american. The rest are undeterminate and or are identifiying themselves as a small group.

i think of you frequently make a solid component. My issue is with the Chickenhawks who have confidence in an aggressive, militant remote places coverage, yet yet are unwilling to make the real-existence sacrifices required for our u . s . to maintain that form of a stance international huge. in case you have solid comments approximately how neccessary it truly is to deliver the U. S. militia international huge, i think of you're a coward while you're actually not prepared to be a sort of who get despatched. you're very precise that the militia isn't for each guy or woman and that no longer every person ought to connect, or experience responsible for no longer having served. i'm going to assert, the militia truly wasn't for me, yet my time as an infantryman nevertheless became effective in some techniques. I do think of that each and every physique youngsters ought to perform a little form of national provider, however the character of the provider must be completely left as much as the guy. i may be very against a draft. I do have an extremely enormous issue with gung-ho college Republicans who attempt to argue that our conflict in Iraq is mandatory to our national protection and how forward for western civilization, yet are unwilling to serve in the militia. once you're a 21 365 days previous guy and you essentially have confidence that your u . s . is locked in a existence or death war for its survival, and yet you're unwilling to take part in the combat, then i'm sorry, yet you're a coward. Oh, and by way of the way: If it became 1968, and you have been days away out of your draft actual, and you have been the son of a congressman and the grandson of the senator, and you by some skill controlled to get bumped to the suited of a 365 days and a a nil.5 long waiting checklist to get into flight guidance for a countrywide shield unit that had 0 risk of being despatched to Nam, once you had scored THE bare minimum on the potential attempt, that makes you a draft dodger.

If someone wants to bad mouth those that would give their life for the loud mouth, let them make themselves look as stupid as they really are. And there ARE NO CONVICTED FELONS in the military. If you're a convicted felon, you cannot join. It's hard enough just getting a good civilian job with a felony conviction in your past. How can people be so stupid? Oh, yeah...mom & dad, grandma and grandpa were all brothers and sisters.

as the daughter of a vet a wife and mother of veterans i think rosie is a loud mouth know it all. i know for fact that convicted felons cannot join the military service not all are poor or uneducated. some of the most brilliant minds are in the military serving their country and defending the rights of others. so for freedom of speech, religion, right to assemble, bear arms and freedom of the press please thank a vet. after all that is what we fought for over 200 years ago.

I can't see Youtube at work, but I can imagine what is on it.

It doesn't bother me a bit. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. As a liberal democrat who serves proudly in the military, I am not thrilled about everything I hear from the left side of the aisle, but I tell you, I'm so thrilled about what I hear from the right, either.

Well, the pig has the right so speak her fat pig headed mind as she wants. I take offense to herself calling herself a patriot as much as the soldiers are. I was in the Army back in the mid-90s, sure, I got help for college, but that was not my #1 major reason for enlisting, I enlisted because I felt it was my duty so serve my country!

2007-05-23 08:57:20 · answer #8 · answered by AmericanCultureWarrior 4 · 1 0

When I served I didn't care about the politics or the pundits. I took an oath to follow orders and that's what I did. Neither myself or anyone on my team talked politics because political disagreements can undermine the mission.

Our job is to follow orders. The country's job is to give them. If someone in our country doesn't like the orders, they have the right to protest. Don't put me or my team in the middle of your disagreements, that's not right.

If you want to support the troops, give them what they need to fight, don't put them in the middle of your political arguments and don't complain about how they get the job done.

That was pretty bad. I don't let it bother me. Bad stuff was said about us vets when we came home from Vietnam. I was proud to wear the uniform and serve. I support the troops in Iraq and wish them well.
