A friend of mine doesnt have internet explorer at all on his computer, only has aol. When he tried to download IE6 he got this message:
the download location information is damnaged please
clear internet explorer browser cache and retry setup.
Can someone pls tell me what this means and what to do? Like how can you clean something you dont have????

It is Windows 98 and he is trying to dowload yahoo messanger but IE wont let him. Says not installed. Can some one pls answer me with a less compicated answer??? Would be greatly appreciated!!

Sounds like a little bit of an older machine...
IE IS installed on ALL windows machines, even though you don't think it is. Windows was sued over this a while back. If you go in and delete the following folder:
c:\program files\internet explorer and then down the stuff you need. HOWEVER: download the file to another computer and then copy it over first.

Down load Firefox 2 web browser it is more secure and faster than IE6 you can easily set it up to clear all cookies and private data, plus all the history just follow the setup instruction

well if u have xp make sure u clean ur comp by first go to my computer and then right click the c drive or ur main os drive then hit properties from there hit disk cleanup and make sure u seltect all of the check boxes and clear the junk out second go and right click on the ie icon on ur desktop and hit properties and clean all the junk outa there

he should have had windows explorer if he had windows. maybe not the most current version, but he should have it.
