I love the elliptical. It's how I get my 45 min of cardio in at the gym. It is a great machine, especially for toning. Plus its easy on the joints.

However its like anything else for cardio. Thats merely part of a weight loss routine. You also need strength training as well.

You lose weight by burning more calories than you take in and by optimizing the calories lost. Work out a routine with your trainer based on what you eat.

If you are eating fast food each day, no matter how long you stay on the elliptical you aren't going to lose weight. If you starve yourself and stay on the elliptical more, you won't lose as much weight.

Just b/c someone else lost 40 lbs doesn't mean you will--cardio is all about the heart rate. Find out what your target heart rate is and try to achieve that throughout your cardio.

Then work on making sure you are eating a nutritious diet and getting plenty of veggies in.

I did lose weight using the elliptical. I started at 173 lbs (I'm 5'10'') in January, did about 30-40 minutes a day on the elliptical with about 30 minutes of weight training. I ate about 1300 calories per day (lots of fruits, veggies, and whole grains!) and lost 25 lbs in three months. I don't know if that's too much or too little to lose in 3 months but the weight has stayed off it was definately worth it! Now I actually like to wear my bathing suit!

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

you may drop pounds utilising an elliptical yet frequently you may get a extra valuable work out utilising a treadmill. An elliptical is "extra handy" and you do no longer artwork out as troublesome on it and as you may on a treadmill. How a lot you may desire to work out relies upon on your objectives and your present day wellbeing point. frequently a stable work out to lose some weight may well be approximately 40 5 minutes to an hour of intense intensity aerobic approximately 3-4 days a week and weights/potential coaching 3 days a week.

At first it did because my body wasn't used to working out. Once it got used to it, my weight hit a plateau. ...And that's when I started using the treadmill. You have to challenge your body if you want to shed those unwanted pounds. Good luck!
