I am on antibiotics for a UTI, can I drink alcohol? Someone told me no, and I have also heard that you can. What is safe?

No you should not take antibiotics and drink alcohol because it will make the antibiotic in effective and useless. I think it's because the antibiotic interacts with the alcohol. But anyway if your going to drink then don't bother to take the antibiotic because it's a waste of time.

alcohol will decrease the effectiveness of the antibiotic by as much as 75%, roughly the same as not taking the med at all.

Usually if you are not supposed to drink with a med it says so on the bottle. To be really sure call the pharmacist where you had your script filled they are experts, and I am not.

no no no. Did that once and had the worst upset stomach you can imagine. Plus, it seemed to cut the efficiency of the meds. So I wouldnt advise it.
