Take her to the Doctor. Explain to the doctor all the odd things that are happening - like not taking her medications properly, forgetting to turn off the stove - or the tap. Letting strangers into her house. Calling odd telephone numbers, giving out personal information over the phone.
Explain any differences in personality - mean and crabby when she was once sweet and gentle (sign of a mini-stroke)
Explain any changes in balance - she falls a lot. Ability to see - gets lost in her own room, etc. Loss of appetite - forgets to eat regularly. Explain any incontinence - especially if she isn't aware of it.
Let the doctor examine her thoroughly and recommend a new way to care for Mom.
Let the Dr. explain senility - she will deny it or she may be relieved -
Either way, admitting one's mortality is often traumatic for both the elder and younger patients (and you're a patient too)
good luck!

Pl. Don't ever make that mistake to tell her that! Instead, just do your duty towards her and leave her alone at rest of the time.
Remember, she is your mom and when you used to play mischiefs, she would not let you get hurt. Now it's your turn. She is a child and playing mischiefs. You have to tolerate her!
Just sometimes in a light mood, tell her that she is old & behaves like old too, and that you love her as she is!
