Can you imagine the same response given in religion to scientific questions? How can you have a logical rational conversation with someone that ends with.
Because God can do anything.
Ex. I can fly. No you can't. I can do anything. Its impossible. Ahhh maybe for a normal because but I can fly. Why can YOU fly? Because...I can do anything. Prove it to me. It is not meant for you to understand.
Or can we even look at religion objectively? Don't we have a vested interest to make sure its vague and impossible to disprove? If we were to do a scientific experiment where you had to try to understand a problem with the same set of parameters would it be possible to be fair? one outcome would cause you to be tortured for eternity OR the other option would cause you to have bliss for eternity. Could you really say that you were unbiased in your investigation? oh and before the christians answer. the bible is not proof. We DON"T believe in the bible.
Sincerely,
Atheists

you're assuming that there is a loss of info. own adventure, in spite of the actuality that subjective, is info. the actuality that technological information isn't yet in a position to degree and take a inspect this info would not make it any much less actual. If we assume that not something in the universe exists that we can not hit upon with our measurable and testable senses, we chosen to decrease ourselves to information of purely those issues. Are we so conceited to even have self assurance that we see all and hit upon all? The absence of a superb fact could be because of the shortcoming to locate a superb fact. via claiming this absence as info of the adverse, you presume to have all wisdom of the priority. This you do not have. you are able to, certainly could, push aside our own wisdom of God and our reports to assist your "logic". You dismissal makes our reports no much less actual. Your dismissal isn't something different than your determination. What info could you grant a blind guy that colours, for which he has no info of, exists?

I actually mesh science and religion rather well.
Science doesn't have all the answers.....yet. There are a lot of things out there that have no proof but is waiting to be discovered and explained. The gods may be some of it.
Telling me how a rose is a rose, why a rose is a rose, and what makes a rose a rose...doesn't take away the beauty of it being the gods creation. You just tell me how they do it!

You don't need to turn to the bible to see proof of God. Nature is proof. To believe that some thing as complex and ordered as the human mind could have resulted out of chaos and randomness, is more a leap of faith than beliveing in a creater.

I think you mean logic in christianity, because religion is a set of attitudes, beliefs, and practices.

But yes i do believe that religion (even christianity) can be related to logic. But then it wouldn't be christianity!

There is a test which you can conduct, but I hesitate to call it scientific since bias most certainly plays a part:
"If any man will DO His (God's) will, he will know of the doctrine, whether I speak from God or of my own volition." - Jesus.

If you want to test the truth of this, start where God says to start: ask for forgiveness from everyone you have ever wronged if it is reasonably possible to contact them. Admit it all, and stop doing it. Next, pray something along these lines, "I have done many wrong things, such as (name as many as you can). All my life, I have not believed in you, but if you are real, I need forgiveness. If you are real, please help me know you. Make yourself real to me in some way." It is key that you humble yourself and admit your sin and DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MAKE GOD PERFORM FOR YOU - HE WON'T! Leave it up to Him to choose how to do it, but don't be arrogant and make threats like, "Unless you do this and such, I won't believe." Do NOT proceed one step further in bible reading until you have done this - it won't do you any good.

Why answer this question? All is meaningless, for nothing dictates to us now with what we should be concerned with save the empty voices of each other. According to you, we are nothing but a series of organic reactions. Now we die. If you find something deficient in the view of those who believe in God, what compels you to tell us that we're wrong? YOUR god? What moral code? What law compels you to lecture us on what we should believe or not? Why bother us with your concerns? Go out, have fun, eat, screw, drink, die. Whatever gives you the most pleasure in the moment, do it. But don't waste our time with your insults. We "offer a reason for the faith that we have." (I Pet 3:15), you trash it. Okay, fine. We don't care anymore. We don't. You are not looking for answer, so to hell with your question.

Good one: Now I have Got one

"Why do Christians believe a Book that is Man-Made, You know in Richard Dawkin's "God is as a Delusion" says..."

"God is against scientific LAW, But when the world was created a bing bang from energy that went against every scientific law..."

"I read this article in the Newspaper, by this college kid about how she grew a gill...Its FACT because it was in the NEWSPAPER"

"Evolution is a theory, but in science a theory is a fact even though the english dictionary says something wrong.."

"Christian's don't think for themselves, However this scientist wrote an article about something that I truly don't understand, but a scientist wrote it, so why question it!"

Sincerely,
The Real world....

Religion exists only in the Land of OZ.

And only if you aren't as intelligent as Toto, because even the dog figured out where all the noise was coming from.

Wasn't there a line in the movie "As Good as it Gets" that said something like...

You have a man, and you take away reason, logic and accountability...then you have a woman....I think the answer should be you take away reason, logic and accountability...then you have a fundamentalist.

Yes. Buddhist monks and serious students study logic as a regular part of Buddhist thought.
