You are probably typical of the average 16 year old out there. You been brought up in a society that most recently has bombarded you with violence, sex, immorality, fraud, corporate step on whomever philosophy, awful television, awful music (for the most part). You've also, most likely, gone through a school system that was overhauled by the loony left and taken the teaching of any 'morality' out of the schools. Is it any wonder you're a walking conscienceless zombie?

You may be able to suppress your conscience for now, but you won't for ever, because it will catch up with you, and one day shout loud and clear.
Man's greatest need is for forgiveness, and the forgiveness of Almighty God is the most amazing benefit that can be imagined.
You may use methods of silencing the conscience for now, but you won't always be able to do this. You may bury your conscience in misdemeanours and ignore it, you may use self-justifying arguments or diversionary tactics or even reprogramme your conscience. It is possible that you have reached a point where deeds which once made you feel ashamed no longer bother you. But this will not be the end of the story. You might have tampered with your conscience and twisted your natural constitution to accept an immoral set of standards. But you are more complex than you think, and you will now be a deeply troubled person, a divided person, because you cannot get rid of the original programme of conscience.
What would be worse than to end life's journey a stranger to God's mercy? What could be more foolish than to come to the close of this brief, earthly existence, having missed the point of it all? God is willing to forgive anyone who throws themselves upon His mercy.

John Paul II (JPII) did much speaking on this:
"Conscience, in fact, is the 'place' where man is illuminated by a light which does not come to him from his created and always fallible reason, but from the very Wisdom of the Word in whom all things were created,"
" Only a correctly-formed conscience rightly corresponds to human dignity -- a conscience that searches for the truth and, enlightened by it, decides. Therefore human dignity requires that a person orient his conscience in accordance with the lawful order established by the Creator; in matter of conscience he must consult the truth revealed in Christ and include the Church's authoritative teaching."
"The formation of on's conscience is a fundamental duty. The reason is very simple; our conscience can err. An when error prevails over it, it becomes a cause of the greatest harm for the human person ... " < JPII, L'Osservatore Romano general audience Aug 1983>
"Q: Isn't it sufficient to follow my own conscience?
A: It is not sufficient, therefore, to say to man: 'Always follow your conscience.' It is necessary to add immediately and always: 'Ask yourself if your conscience is telling you the truth or something false, and seek untiringly to know the truth.' If we were not to make this necessary clarification, man would risk to find in his conscience a force which is destructive of his true humanity, rather than that holy place where God reveals to him his true good." < JPII, ibid >

The issue is not whether you have a conscience, but whether or not your conscience is purged of sin(law). Hebrews 9 begins revealing neither OT Law nor NT Law (another law) can purge the conscience of sin, since law is actually the root source of sin, and oppression, and infirmities, and of death. Law demands perfection (the only condition of Abrahamic covenant), but it can't deliver, being faulty itself: Heb 8 & 10.
Only law imputes sin: Romans 4:15; 5:13; and also imputes death: 1Corinthians 15:56; James 1:15. Law also accuses and condemns. Grace does neither: John 3:17; John 5:45; John 8:3-11. Grace cannot lie(law) nor die(law). Grace neither tempts(laws) nor can be tempted(lawed).
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Yes I do. So does everyone else.
Funny, I was reading in Matt. 6 and found this: Jesus said "The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is sound, your entire body will be full of light " (your conscience). But if your eye is unsound, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the very light (your conscience) is darkened, how great is the darkness!

You have a conscience, so do I, so does everyone here. Most people just don't use it. Stop listening to Satan and your conscience should get stronger. If you do the right thing, your conscience will get stronger. I think you need some conscience exercises to help you out.

Reminds me of the show on Showtime called Dexter (based on a series of books, of course). It's about a serial killer who has no conscience but he tries to do the right thing by only killing other serial killers.
Personally, I feel guilt and remorse for things I didn't even do. For example, I feel guilt and remorse for GWB being the US President even though *I* didn't vote for him.

The lack of these feeling probably mean you have symptoms of Anti Social Personality disorder. Go to a doctor and leave religion out of it.

Yes, I do have a conscience. It is the voice of God whispering to me which tells me what's right and what's wrong. In fact, it is my conscience that is telling me now that what you are doing is wrong.
