Why don't you all just stop buying big soccer-mom SUVs. I bought my VW golf diesel new in 2000. I still get about 50 miles to the gallon.

How good are motorcycles in a foot of snow? How about during a torrential rain fall?

My mom used to work in an intensive care unit of a hospital. The staff called motorcycles "donor cycles."

You do have a good point, however. Drivers need to watch out for motorcycle riders and motorcycle riders need to ride defensively. I had a few weave in and out while I was on the freeway. Scary.

bikes are nice. i use to have one. they get great gas mileage but you can only ride them in decent weather. riding in bad weather can be very dangerous. also, on the note of insurance. insurance on a bike is a lot cheaper than on a car or truck. my truck insurance is about $2500 a year for full coverage, and my bike insurance for a year was just under $900 with full coverage.

why, if you save enough on fuel to make the bike payment and insurance your still not saving any money. and then you've got to make the bike payment all winter while paying out extra in gas for your car or truck so you're even deaper in the hole. I don't understand why it's so hard for people to see the whole picture
