My camera is a Canon Powershot A520, and when I was checking how much memory I had left, I accidentally presssed the wrong button and formatted my card. I am on vacation in another country, so I am really worried that I will need to go back to all of the places that I have been to retake the pictures, or should I not worry about it because it can be fixed when I get home? I am just wondering how likely it is that thye are still somewhere on this SD card. Thank you

Also-- I have a laptop here in France, and I have the cable to connect my camera to it via USB. I have downloaded several of these programs to recover my pictures, but none of them recognize Canon Powershot as a drive; only Drive C, D, and the cd drive. If I bought a SD card slot that would plug into the USB, that I could plug the card into, would this make it read as a drive? Also, I am running Window ME on here and am not sure if this is part of the problem since I hardly use this laptop.

DO NOT TAKE ANOTHER PICTURE! Buy a new card and continue your trip.

There are image recovery programs that will usually work if you have not done anything else to the card after you formatted it and you can ask about them when you get back home.
