its not because u find flaws... its that u invent them... the Bible is perfect in scope, depth and perception... people try to muddy the water.

I think it's substantially a matter of insecurity. As the old cliche goes, "No one wants to hear their baby is ugly." Same with religion, especially Christianity. Christians, at least the ones I've met and read about, consider their religion to be the ONLY religion of any legitimacy. Furthermore, those who are not Christian will go to he**, suffer eternal dam******, etc. There is absolutely no thinking that 'well maybe religion x (non-Christian) has some good ideas! I'll have to think about that!' No, there's only one religion and it's perfect. If you study certain Eastern religions, you will find much more tolerance and acceptance of other beliefs. 'Perfect' Christianity led to the Crusades in the Middle Ages and to the current Crusade too. Sigh. My best advice (speaking as the voice of experience as the husband of a Southern Baptist) would be to just ignore the whole 'flaws' thing---you won't change any minds and you'll just cause turmoil in whatever relationship is involved. Find a religion of tolerance---as I have---and rejoice in it. They ARE out there.

Christians get offended mainly cause they want to be right and are so misguided in the muddled faith of their creator. Flaws are there and the christian faith is relatively new to the world, so it is attacked more than some of the older religions(i.e. muslim or Judea faiths). Besides all religions have flaws, anything written by man is ultimately flawed.

Speaking only for myself, I don't get offended when people point out the inconsistances in Christian teaching, the Bible, etc. What does offend me is the "holier-than-thou" tone that some of the questions take. It's almost as some askers use their questions to say "this is too illogical for me to handle, therefore, if you believe it, you are stupid."

because there are no errors in christianity. Or so they say. Therefore you are making things up.
Even if you can prove it, they will deny it and say you are possessed by a demon for believing there is any flaw in it.
They say the bible was written/ inspired straight from God through willing people. Therefore you showing the flaws is like saying God has flaws. Its crazy.

I don't get offended, but then again, I haven't seen anyone on here point out any valid flaws. The few that actually ARE "flaws" in my opinion aren't a big deal.

We are slow to listen to you in hopes that the Lord will use us to help open your closed, hardened, hell driven hearts. But at the same time we are quick to stand against the enemy when he is spewing lies about our saviour. The devil is our worst enemy and so is anyone else who is not on the Lord's side. Again, I wonder outloud, if you are so secure in what you believe why do you care about christians reactions?

I am not offended by sincere questions, but there are no "Flaws" in my Religion.

Good Luck and all the best to you.

Peace!

They feel that if there is anything questionable in the Bible, that it negates the entire book...

I do not believe that to be true. But, many must not have their houses built on a firm foundation of faith in God to be so shaken.

Nobody has ever found a flaw so I have no reason to be offended. However, if someone ever does (yeah, right!), I'll let you know how I react.
