This summer....I'm deciding to end my drug use. But first I must try a drug I have been wanting to try for a long time. This Drug happens to be LSD.

My mind is generally a good mind. I have bad days, but who doesnt. I will choose a day were my mood is good and ill be around my closest 2 of my close friends, 2 good friends, and one really good aquantaince who is a fun guy to be around.

I'll either be in my own home, or a very nice place around nature with birds chirping and a river with all those peaceful outdoor sounds.

Questions:
1. I know the trip will not last forever and will not drive me insane. But the possibility of Schitzophrenia is there. Can you live a normal life with schitz if it does occur? and usually how bad does acid make it?

2. Should I take a full hit or half a hit? I have had experience with Cannabis before and have felt the effects somwhat overpowering in my first few times trying it.

3. sound like a good plan?

4. Good overview of what to expect?

crys.....LSD is supposedly a drug that almost 99.9% of people get addicted to. Also since it has a high tolerance build up it would eventually not work after awhile of serious addiction. LSD is far from a new drug it has been around for like 6-7 decades i think. I am never taking any harmful drugs like heroin or methamphetamines. I am just planning to quit using marijuana habitually...not fully. thanks for the reply though.

You could have a frieghtening "trip" even with your mom and dad holding your hands. One, or one and a half "hits" is usually not enough these days. I doubt you will loose your mind or have to deal with long term mental illness. But, LSD is a controlled substance. Why would you want to risk a class c felony for possession of a controlled substance? Spend you money on something better than drugs.

The prices vary according to the type of LSD ... but in the early 1970s it was about $5 per 'hit' (enough to get a person high) and it's up to about $10 per hit today in my state. The 'short term' effects of LSD are that you get 'high' and have hallucinations ... they can be visual, audio, or both. You get 'high' about one hour after taking LSD and are high for 8 hours, during which time the hallucinations can come and go. There are no 'effects' of 'overdose' on LSD. I've personally taken 18 - 25 'hits' and barely got 'high' because my tolerance was up. Some people do have a very bad reaction, though, and need to be taken to the hospital to be 'brought down' IMMEDIATELY. Thorazine (a psychoneurotic leveler) is used to bring a person down. If a person is given a shot of Thorazine, they'll be down within half an hour, even if they've been 'high' only half an hour. There are NO 'withdrawal symptoms' to stopping the use of LSD because it is not addicting. What PART of the body does LSD effect? THE MIND ... it may SEEM to affect other parts of the body, but LSD is strictly a way of altering the 'mentality' of a person ... so the only 'part' is the MIND ... the mind is in the brain, but long term there is no 'effect' other than having been 'high' before.

1. Schizophrenia is a debilitating psychological disease. You cannot live a "normal" life like you do today if you have this disease. I do not know how likely it is that you would develop this from using LSD, but you never know.
2. Neither.
3. Not a good plan - I would steer clear of it altogether.
4. That's an interesting question, with no good answer. There is no way to know what to expect. Since all varieties of this drug are a little different, depending on how they are produced and what other drugs/substances may be mixed with the LSD, it is totally unpredictable what your experience would be like.

That is one powerful drug. I did it a lot in my younger days and I feel like it permanently changed me psychologically (not for the better). Although I had a lot of good trips, I also had a handful of bad ones. I wish I could go back and choose not to do it at all.

Taking LSD is an unwise move. Sure, there are many who have had good trips, but there are also many who have had horrible trips with recurrent flashbacks. These are unpredictable. Not everyone makes it back from Stonesville. Some who do have a long, arduous and expensive journey.

I wish you sucess in efforts to be drug free, but to me you sound as though you are in Lala land.

If you want to burn out your brain go ahead and do this. While many people do it I know of quite a few who still require a group home to live in because they took it and it screwed up their brains. One thing to remember is that all street drugs carry things in them that they have been mixed with and those things along with the drug can have devasting brain effects. Is it worth the risk, plus if you are sayig you are going to give up drugs after this, why risk it. Just go ahead and quit. You may need rofessional help to do so.

i don't think you should do it if you are really trying to quit, this isn't a good sign. what if a "new" drug comes out in a year or two are you going to start using again because you just have to try it? what if you really like LSD and you decide not to quit your drug use because you wanted the experience again

you can't be serious lsd?,I watched two of my friends go insane literally and they have never been the same since i miss them. if you need to get high just smoke pot its much much safer.
would you really want to take the chance of a really bad trip and frying your brain? how do you think your friends and family would feel if you became brain damaged?
