It depends what the bet is... do you feel that you have a good chance of winning?
Other questions that you should ask youself before making this bet are: how much do you ~really~ care about your appearance? How much do you ~really~ care about what other people think/say about you?
I already have the impression that you care a fair bit, and are fairly attached to your hair (no pun intended!), as you say that you'll look like a freak without hair.
You won't. And hair grows back.
Take a look at Natalie Portman in "V for Vendetta" - she was pretty much bald there, and she looked pretty good. Other actresses have gone bald for roles and lived through it.
In the end, it's really up to you, but it sounds to me like you don't want to lose your hair this way, if it came to that.

How steady is his razor hand? I'd certainly take that into consideration when deciding about this bet.
As for whether to put your hair up in the bet, only you know how much having people stare at you will bother you. Your hair will grow back, of course--and he can't just print up more $$$ to replace what you might make off of him if you win.
(I'm not suggesting you take the bet, though. It all goes back to how you'll feel when you're running around town in a hat in the heat of July or getting a sunburnt cranium.)

You don't say what kind of wager it is, but it sounds like there is a strong possibility you might lose. Do not risk it.
Small towns are not like the city. Make yourself a freak once and you will be "the freaky girl" from then on, for generations to come.

Renee, What will you wager next time? I'm thinking too why don't you work for some extra income? You don't have to trade hours for dollars. I think you could be more creative. Check online. I'm sure you can come up with a lucrative business. If not, see what business opportunities are for sale on e-bay. Ask the guy to loan you the money to get your business started and offer to pay interest on his money. Then you both win.

First of all, Britney Spears shaved her head and didn't look or act like a freak so don't worry about the freak thing. But depending on the odds of you loosing and the money involved I'd so do it.

You should if you feel like losing your hair is worth it. You can always wear a hat or use the money to buy a wig....either way, you can make some money for something that is going to grow back.

In matters like this, it's completely dependent on how confident you are that you can win the bet. If the risks are worth it then do it but losing your hair as a girl would suck badly, so you had BETTER be sure you're going to win.

How sure are you that he would or could pay up if you won? Nah, bet something else, or at least have him take you to a salon to get it shaved, or pixie cut, don't let him do it. You never know, you may like the pixie look.

Just take the money, shave your hair and buy a wig. Anyways, looks don't matter THAT much. What matters is that you live in a nice place and you're healthy.
