Have you considered hiring a dog walker to come take him for a thirty minute walk at least once during his time in there. Or you could try to come home at lunch and take him for a run. The poor dog is probably bored out of his mind!
You might also add some stimulating toys. Get a kong and fill it with ground beef or soak his kibble and put that in the kong. Freeze it totally solid. Give him that when he goes into his run. Having to work for his food will give him something both physically and mentally challenging. If he likes to dig, get him a sandbox and bury treats in it. He can dig them out for some more physical/mental work. Raw knuckle bones are a great treat that can also clean his teeth. Think of what your dog enjoys and figure out a way to make that work for him while he's in his kennel.
Try wearing him out before you kennel him. An hour walk or thirty minute HARD run or game of fetch before he goes in might alleviate the stress of being cooped up all day.
Really consider if you should keep this dog. Ten hours a day locked up is no life for a dog. They crave human interaction and need physical and mental exercise. No dog run is big enough to give a dog adequate physical AND mental exercise. If you can't give it to him, maybe you should find someone who can.

I believe that the idea of getting somebody to come and walk him half way through the day is a good one. Is there not anybody that can spend time with him, as it is a long time for a pack animal like a dog to spend on its own also.
Also the humane anti-bark colors may be a way to go but they can cost quite a bit. It is something worth looking into.

Why have a dog if you're going to keep it locked in a dog run for most of the day? Dog runs are meant for dogs to be in for short periods of time, like if you got someone over that doesn't like dogs or something like that. They are not to be used every day for that many hours.
Seriously if you can't have the dog in your house during those hours then maybe you should consider giving it away to someone who can look after him properly.

Do you put him in because you work ? May be the dog is bored being couped up for so long you imagine how you would feel . All dogs bark especially when out side . Maybe you could look at things that will keep him amused . But seriously look at the time you leave him in there . far too long in my opinion.

Agree with everyone who says how unfair it is to keep a dog locked up all that time. Dont care whether you have a baby or not, you have a responsibility to that dog and if you're not willing to undertake it, you should never have taken the animal on. Get him a good home.

Dogs are social animals. He is miserable from spending 10 hrs a day locked up alone.
Find him a new home with someone who deserves a dog.You are officially a bad owner.

thats a long time for a dog to be couped up in a dog run, he will never stop barking cos he is lonely, and is trying to tell you, how would you like to be couped up like that all day? give him his freedom, or give him to someone who can treat him right.

he is obviously barking because he wants attention and feels neglected, thats a long time to be out there so i dont blame him. maybe cutting the time down a lot will stop the barking.

Give him to someone who will love him and won't lock him up all day, that should stop him barking.
