how to find a person in jail

It depends.. *shrug*.. I was able to find the address of a guy I grew up with who is on death row online.. I googled his name as well as certain details of the crime and the location .. it was a website that is to find penpals for people on death row.. Otherwise I am not sure.. I'd imagine if you are looking for a specific person asking the family might help.. if it's local, call the jail and ask them.. (they might not be able to give you the info, but might be able to say how you might find out.. don't know until you try)

Really it just depends on the situation..

You can find them in the county correctional website. You didn't say what State you live in, so can't help you any further.
