I have a Sportcraft TX4.9 and my neice lost my safety key and it won't work without it. I ordered a replacement online but it didn't fit. I went to the Sportcraft site to order the exact one needed but it is out of stock until July '07. Is there anything I can use to make it work in the meantime? I was all geared up to get back to using it and now I can't.

I think you are going to appreciate :) that I was looking for prices on my treadmill b\c I want to sell it ( I don't use it :P) And I saw your comment on google! Well I think I have the answer to your troubles.......... I lost my key about 8mos ago and called the 800 number I purchased 2 keys in case I lost them again...hehehaha. Well I am going to sell my treadmill and I don't need my extra key. If you have the same treadmill I would not mind sending it to you!!! :) Maybe I can help you. :) email me and if you dont feel comfortable I can send it to a po box etc .
ps : do you remember how much you bought yours for? I am having a yard sale tom. Im not sure how much to sell it for...

You didn't hear this from me, but the key is probably for a simply open contact switch. I would imagine there are two wires that go into the back of the key slot. Take those off and wire nut them together and the circuit will remain closed. Of course if you fall the treadmill won't stop and you could get pulled into an unstoppable cycle, but you won't have to worry about lost keys.
