If you are deciding between engineering fields, take a look at some careers of the engineers that are in that field. Think about what you have a passion for, and pursue that. It is the only way you will be happy with the work that you do.
Beyond that, I think mechanical engineering has the widest scope of applications in the world - mechanical engineers work among the civil, electrical, and computer fields on things such as machines, energy, and engines.

it all depends on what you want. being in civil gives you a greater chance to find a job after you graduate. there is always a need of civils. i've talked to other people in other engineering fields and they've told me it's hard to find a job.
