It is so expensive to stay in the city, but I want to go for a visit. I can if I can save the money, and this means finding a cheaper hotel room that is not roach infested, and decent for 100.00 or less a night. I checked prices all over the city itself, and even a 1 star hotel was 200 or more, and it was way too much for someone like me. Any suggestions?

dont stay at an airport hotel in ny.
they are inconvenient to manhattan.

i recommend the la quinta hotel in long island city.
long island city is in queens but its right next to manhattan...just over the bridge.
the la quinta hotel is located literally across the street from the #7 train and it takes 10 minutes to get to Manhattan from that point. The 7 train is very quick, frequent and the hotel's pricing is good.
I live around there and always see business travelers there. Its a chain of hotels so you know they have a certain standard, unlike rinky dink motels.
Its a bout $150 a night but I have seen signs about a $99 special rate.
Anyways, here's their info:
La Quinta Inn
Queens (New York City)
37-18 Queens Blvd
Long Island City, NY 11101
Phone: (718)729-8775

And have fun in NY!!!

Yeah, stay in New Jersey. It's a short train ride from Manhattan and you will find cheaper hotels. You should also go to travel sites to find hotels in the poorer neighborhoods, then call the hotel directly to make reservations.
If you want a decent hotel for under 100 dollars a night, go to Las Angeles. You will NOT find a good hotel in New York or Jersey that doesnt have roaches for that price.

Look into New Jersey...Hoboken, Newport, and Jersey City (Hudson County). These places are near NJ/NY path train, which is $1.50 each way and takes anywhere from 20-30 minutes to NYC, and takes you to Christopher, 9, 14, 23, and 33rd street and B'dwy and connects right to mta transit w/o having to go outside. Pretty easy...Good Luck.

A lot of the airport hotels, around JFK in Jamaica, NY are nice and under 100. If you have a car its an okay drive - a little confusing at parts. But if you dont have a car you should check to find a hotel that has a free shuttle into nyc.

Unfortunately, any area outside of Manhattan that will give close access to the city will be expensive. I can assure you that you will not find a place for $100. or under.

My best advice would be to stay with friends if that is an option for you. Manhattan is easily accessable through any of the boroughs via subway.

I stayed on the Lake Eve motel, that's off aspects, yet i did no longer have a "deluxe" or "luxury" point funds. :) this is placed only approximately on the tip of worldwidecontinual, and took approximately quarter-hour to get to Disney Hollywood studios, IIRC. We went decrease back for naps on a daily basis. I wasn't driving even with the undeniable fact that it did no longer appear as if a site visitors-clogged or confusing area. the staff gave us decrease back-street guidelines so i think that helped. The lodging have been extensive--extra a residence or house than a series. 2 finished BR's 2 finished baths, finished kitchen, washer/dryer, patio, and so on. for around $one hundred fifty according to nighttime entire. the extra area to unfold out and exceedingly quiet area made it very restful. i think of it became very well worth the commerce-off of driving perhaps 5-10 extra minutes. It did no longer look large baby-based however, the pool became a pool, rather of a mini-water park and there wasn't a playground. i became with 2 different adults so I wasn't checking for such stuff. you're able to be able to desire to no longer walk to any eating places different than the only there, even with the undeniable fact that it became decrease than 2 minutes to quickly foodstuff, outback, and so on. i do no longer understand if it truly is what you're finding for, only my 2 cents on a place i've got easily stayed at. anyplace you compromise directly to stay, y'all have relaxing!
