I am in the process of claiming back my bank charges and have reached the point where I have to follow through with the threat of taking them to court. The only thing is I am not clear on what paperwork I need to provide. I have a list of dates and amounts, is that enough or do I need to provide statements?

I have to file the claim in person at the county court as I am claiming legal aid.

Has anyone else done this sucessfully?

Uk answers please as I would imagine the rules are different in other countries.

A record of your dealings issued by the bank ( known in legalese as the other side) is good evidence. If drawn up entirely by yourself it is possibly inadequate. It is all about somebody other than you being an independent source of information.

Gather all the documents showing your transactions and make an affidavit to claim the money that are supposed to be paid to you. Be able to prove your claim.

My advice would be, gather as much information as you possibly can. When in doubt (such as your statements) get it. It can't hurt to be over prepared.
