This is something that I have always wondered because people say that Apostolic Christians are too happy or they are too closed minded and I would like to hear some answers...different viewpoints if you will.

I was intrigued by them...the way they dressed and presented themselves and so I started going to their church services. Yes, I was a little scared at first cause I wasn't use to it, but after I got over that hump I was like "wow! these people are so nice, so humble and I really really enjoyed the service." so, yes I think the Apostolic are great!

I suggest you attend an Apostolic Church for a month and see for yourself. Ask them what they believe and why. I am sure you will be surprised. I have come to understand that they base their beliefs on the Word of God and believe it is the only authority when it comes to all matters concerning life. KJV - Deuteronomy 6:4, John 1:1, John 10:30, Galatians 3:28, Colossians 2:6-9, Isaiah 45:21-23
Dress is important to God. He took the fig leaves off Adam and Eve and covered them according to His standard of modesty, which covered them from head to knee,including their arms, according to translation of the meaning of the words used. Research it yourself,
and eliminate any questions you may have. It will take work and time but it is worth it.

My opinion is as follows:
I've talked with lots of Apostolic Christians on the Internet and in real life, dating back to 1974 when I was a campus Pastor at Illinois State.
T D Jakes is the only Pastor of that type who appears regularly on TV.
Apostolics have a set of beliefs which are quite different than most other Bible believing Christians, they even believe differently than other Pentecostals.
Apostolics deny the Trinity and claim that Father, Son and Holy Spirit are three titles for Jesus.
Apostolics usually claim that to be saved you must speak in tongues and be baptized in water in the name of "Jesus only".
Apostolics are usually very legalistic about dress and teach that women and girls may never wear pants or shorts, and must wear dresses or skirts, they cannot cut their hair either.
Apostolic teenagers would not think twice about wearing sinful blue jeans, yet they think its ok to have sex with their boyfriend or girlfriend before they are married.
I've been asked that question directly by several Apostolic teens, both boys and girls.
I know one Apostolic Police officer lady who is 38 years old, and her 23 year old daughter, ( you can all do the math there and figure out hold Mama was when the now 23 year old was born ), and I know that the 23 year old had her baby out of wedlock as well.
Fortunately that 23 year old is now married to her baby's Daddy, but the problem was I could not and other pastors could not convince this couple not to live together in sin before they were marred.
They said as 20 year olds, "We're moving into an apartment together in Las Vegas ( from Chicago ), but we aren't going to have sex."
Right.
Tongues is a minor issue in the Bible but the Apostolics place a huge amount of emphasis on it.
Not having sex before marriage is a huge deal in the Bible and the Apostolics I know don't think that is a bid deal.
So therefore you have a church group which majors in minors and minors in the majors, which I'm sure most of you will agree is pretty messed up.
Most Apostolics teach that if you aren't Apostolics or UPC you could not possibly be a Christian.
So in that way they believe like a false cult.

Well I don't know too much about them.
They seem more like Pentecostals in that they believe that men and women should be separated during service, no cosmetics or jewelry, no costly or immodest clothing, and having women wear a veil when praying.
What surprised me is that there is only a cappella singing and that the minister does not get a salary.
It sounds very simplistic. So I guess its okay if you want to worship that way.

i wouldn't say that we are always happy b'cuz tha untrue, we have or days just like the next person, however there is a difference in handling the situation. And no we aren't closed minded, we're just blessed individuals trying to make it to Heaven, and grateful to be called the children of God. Knowing that we were sinners and on our way to a devil's hell but Jesus saved us, which is why we're happy

The only christian faith that is apostolic are the catholics. The first pope who is St. Peter, he was one of Jesus apostles.
Matt. 16: 18-19, RSV
And I tell you, you are Peter (Petros), and on this rock (petra) I will build my Church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Catholics are very happy we eat the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist is John 6:31-71. In this passage, Jesus said "I am the living bread which came down from heaven" [John 6:51]. Jesus further said:
"Truly, truly, I say to you ... he who eats My Flesh and drinks My Blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day." [John 6:53-54]
