On the day of the marriage, the following documentation must be presented to the marriage officer by the couple:

* Their identity documents. If they never had identity documents, an affidavit BI-31 may be furnished in lieu of identity documents and, if their births are registered, also their birth certificates. Foreigners must present their passports.
* If minors, the written consent as prescribed.
* If divorced, the final decree of divorce. If for any sound reason a person is unable to produce a decree of divorce or if a person was divorced in a foreign country and cannot obtain a decree of divorce an affidavit by the person concerned is required to the effect that he/she is legally divorced, and stating the name of the court which granted the divorce and the date on which it was granted.
* If widowed, the deceased spouse’s death certificate. If a death certificate is not available the person concerned is required to submit an affidavit confirming the death of the deceased spouse and stating the name of the deceased and the date of death.

There is no proof. It wasn't even mentioned in any thought processes of the philosophers trying to discredit Jesus in the 1500's. (Voltaire who was thoroughly against the church, and would say anything to rile up the Christians never even considered the marriage of Jesus a possibility.) Those who say that 99% of the Jewish leaders were married, are off on their percentages by about 20. Even if for argument sake, that it was 99%, it is highly possible that Jesus fell into the 1%. Look at what Acts 4:12 wrote about Rabbis. The Bible points out Peters wife, you'd think, that the Bible would mention Jesus' wife. Who is the Bible centered around the most.

I'm assuming you're from somewhere other than South Africa.

Contact the South African consulate and ask what they mean by this - ask specifically what kind of documentation they require.

Go to your local courthouse. They have all records of marriages, divorces, etc. So they would be able to provide proof that you do not have an existing marriage.

An affidavit of support by your parents .... or a statement by your church's priest/pastor...... that you aren't married.... or have a lawyer make that statement....
