I never once tried to prove that God exists, I'll save that for another day. Not that it hasn't been done before, but sometimes generations just need to be reminded. Anyways, so whats the deal? You have no proof that God doesn't exist but you jump down our throats and call us stupid? Now, i'm not defending the people who tried to use the Bible to convince you God is real, thats just crazy. God is self evident to us and its just a matter of time before the coin flips over for you and it reads, "God is eternal". Thanks for answering my questions.

There is no way to prove something "doesn't" exist... that's a negative question and ridiculous.

Can you prove that the incorporeal dragon living in my garage doesn't exist? Can you prove that leprechauns don't exist? You can't prove pink elephants do not exist because they could be invisible pink elephants or they could be living in another dimension or they could be outside of the physical universe completely.

I can come up with ANY excuse (much like the christians do) so you cannot possibly prove the lack of existance of my ghostly dragon friend.

If i told you I had a dragon in my garage you'd be skeptical & you'd want to see it. I would take you to my garage & show you & you'd see nothing...... I would tell you "oh i forgot to mention... He's an invisible dragon." You ask if you can pet him...... Oh he's incorporeal... he cannot be touched and he simply passes through items of mass. I'm sure you'd think i was crazy..... Why is it "ok" then, that you people can go around spouting your "god is real" bull$hit and expect people to eat it up when your ONLY ways to "prove" such a thing even exists is "The bible says he does" or "just look around, that's all the proof you need."

That proves nothing, and it is not possible to prove something does not exist. Drop the nonsense and stop trying to make it sound like you're saying something fresh & new that we haven't heard from EVERY OTHER christian on R&S. You're no different than the rest of them. Robot puppets!

"I never once tried to prove that God exists, I'll save that for another day."

No, don't wait for another day. Produce it now, or shut up.

"Not that it hasn't been done before, but sometimes generations just need to be reminded."

When was it done before? Back in the age of the Bible? That self-contradictory children's book? Please! And I thought you were serrious.

"Now, i'm not defending the people who tried to use the Bible to convince you God is real, thats just crazy."

Oh, I see! So you're able to pick and choose what it is about your faith that makes sense to you. How convienient! I just may have to re-think this thing.

"You have no proof that God doesn't exist but you jump down our throats and call us stupid?"

Atheists are jumpy because we're sick of hearing baseless, illogical, and often downright biggoted comments made by those of faith. We're also tired of having to defend the fact that our beleifs actually hinge on what's provable--we don't have a mascott. We only try to prove the logical: we aren't trying to disprove God--to us that's already a done deal by the fact that He can't be PROVEN.

"God is self evident to us..."

No, God's self-evident to YOU.

A) You didn't actually ask a question here

B) How can someone prove the nonexistence of a nonexistent thing? If I say there's no such thing as Bigfoot, does it become incumbent upon me to search every inch of the forests to make sure there's no Bigfoot? Of course not. The person claiming that something is real should be able to show some clear evidence (Self-evident is not real evidence) to back up their claim. After all, if something exists, there must be some way to show that it does. If something doesn't exist, how could that possibly be proven?

If you make a claim you have to back it up with evidence. You know, the burden of proof and all?

Why believe in the existence of gods when everything can be explained as naturally occurring phenomenon? Occam's razor kind of cuts god out of the deal.

God I self evident? Just exactly what does self evident mean? That he is imaginary? There is no evidence of God so it is unreasonable to believe in God any more than it is reasonable to believe in the Easter bunny. Get a life simpleton. It is you who is jumpy, afraid of reality.

Will if you cant prove God exists, how are you saying God exists? Since you brought up this negative, you should at least have some proof...

The burden of proof is on the believer. You claim there is something (god), show us.

I can claim there is the pixie sky god, would you believe me without providing evidence? NO

You make an extraordinary claim (god). Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Ok…..when someone says that something is true, it is up them to prove it beyond a doubt. This is basic 7th grade science. If I say to you that I believe dogs can bark for instance, it is up to me to prove it to you. If you say to me that god is real, the burden is on you to prove it. That is how it works, that is how it has always worked, and that is how it will continue to work.

Maybe it is just because we are all so sick of bigots, snotnosed missionaries and doctrinaire know-it-alls that want to command everybody and dictate us how we have to see the world and how we have to live.

Superstition is obnoxious, especially if called self-evident. It is used as a technique to sway us.

And sermonizers make me p*ke.

God is self evident? Did you consider that perhaps you could be crazy? If I told you that invisible, omnipotent, blue, three headed peacocks were evident to me, would you think I was crazy? Of course you would.

By the way. Self-evident = evident without proof or reasoning. That says it all.
