My first reaction was the same as Nikola33. However, I have personally found Methodists to be rather tolerant of others, including Mormons. For what it is worth, Joseph Smith was torn between which church to join. Half of his family joined the Presbyterians and half joined the Methodists. Joseph says that he was inclined to join the Methodists but was not quite sure. That is when he went into the grove and prayed for assistance in this important decision. His answer was to join none of them. Further revelation grew into what is now The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Most Protestants think that we are misguided. We feel that they have been misled. Therefore, we both try to bring the other into the true fold. It remains for each person to seek spiritual confirmation through prayer as to what they should do, believe or follow.
Best wishes.

Methodist preacher and Old Testament scholar, Margaret Barker, posed this question at The Worlds of Joseph Smith: An International Academic Conference at the Library of Congress on May 6, 2005:

—“Are the revelations to Joseph Smith consistent with the situation in Jerusalem about 600 B.C.E?”

She apparently believes that they were. You can read a transcript of her speech here:

Many Mormon scholars are beginning to use her studies to help them prove their points about Mormon doctrine. And she's Methodist!

According to my lovely wife (who is a former Methodist but, as of a year ago, has converted Mormonism), Methodists saw Mormons as good, but misguided people. They were taught that Mormons believed lots of false doctrine and that listening to the Mormon message was a bad idea. She was told to treat Mormons well but to avoid them to a certain degree.

Then she met me. A cursed Mormon! We love going to church together now.

my understanding of the methodist church is that you can loose you salvation, and that would kind of fit in with the mormon beliefs of doing all the things that a mormon must do to become a god or goddess, a lllloooonggg, looongggg list of things they have to do.
