Our lower back problems have more to do with bad posture and obesity. The human spine is curved in a way that is completely different from any 4-legged animal. Even apes don't have a spine like this. God designed it that way, and most people do not suffer back pain due to this design.

I have to disagree with your theory. I just finished crawling around on all fours under a house repairing some plumbing. My back feels worse than if I had walked standing up all day, and my knees hurt. I do not believe I was designed to walk on all fours.

I think I'm too evolved to go back to all fours. Besides, my arms seem too short or my legs are too long to work together that way. Yes, I tried, just for giggles.
