Joshua was a follower of Moses who delivered the Israelites to the land of promise. Historians were looking for Jesus because much of histories of the world were largely written by religious scribes of early centuries when philosophers, sorcerers, were still being consulted by Kings and nations leaders. In those time writers cannot privately make their own writings independently and most nations then were lead under monarchial rule that control both religious and political societies.
You might have mistaken Joshua from Yeshua.

There was a special on the history channel by the naked archeologist which claims that he found the tomb of Jesus. He presented pretty god evidence albeit sometimes the wayhe presents things are a little bias. However, the evidence was pretty good. Based on the oods of finding certain names in that tomb, biblical passages very convincing. The problem is that the mystery will never be solve because we don't have dna evidence from when Jesus was alive to prove that this Jesus was the jesus and not some other Jesus.
Why look for such a thing? Wel, it wil make a ot of people s hit their pants. A great deal of chrstians belive that Jesus accened to heaven. If you find hisbones then the resurection story will be false and thats not a good thing for most of them. Again, coming up with such evedice in danm near impossible. Not because he accended like it ws said but because how can you prove a pile of bones are his and not somebody elses.

Did you think that historians were looking for someone with the English name Jesus? Have you ever read a book on the subject of the quest for the historical Jesus? You don't seem to know much about it.

Jesus the man never existed, and many of his stories were added later. No witnesses to his death and even to his birth. It took 40+ years for the Gospels to write about his life. If I was a judge, I wouldn't use that as evidence for a case.

because none of the contemporaries of his alleged time ever wrote about him -- no historians, writers, philosophers.
very unlikely, if he was the miracle worker and mover/shaker that he's made out to be.
more proof that he's just a myth.

They want to justify their unbelief in Him. It's all about faith.
