has your dog ever saved your life or done something heroic?

My mother has diabetes and if her blood sugar gets too low she can go into a coma and die. We used to have a Boxer when I was younger. One night, my Mom was asleep and the dog woke her up, which was strange because she had never done it before (or since). When my Mom woke up, she realized that her sugar was way too low and tested herself. It was so low that she should not have been able to be woken up! She ate some sugar and passed out on the couch. If it had not been for my dog, she would probably have died.

The most heroic thing my dog has ever done is pee on my bed 3 times in one day. She's cute, but not that bright.

We had a German Shepherd (named Prince) about 16 years ago that saved my husband and son's life. My husband likes to go down dirt roads and explore the area around these roads. Well, one time my husband happened on a corral that had fairly tall rails. Our dog Prince was out with them too. Anyway a full grown bull charged my husband and son. My husband grabbed our son and got him out of harms way while Prince started barking at the bull and distracting the bull. The next thing I remember my husband telling me was that the bull and Prince took off down the road. When my husband caught up to them the bull was standing there panting (hard) while Prince ( panting too) was laying in the shade of the bull as if to say "Want another round?"
So needlless to say, that Prince was held in high esteem.

When I was a kid my dog found some baby bunny rabbits that would have been killed by a car passing by. But other then that my dog was the normal pet.
