I want to know what my medical history is, but I refuse to talk to my biological mother. She is a lier and something I wish never to speak to again. But I am getting older and a few things seem to be poping up. I have a 2 year old daughter also that has some medical problems

Contact you dr.'s office and request a copy of a medical history request form that everyone fills out when they visit the Dr. for the 1st time. You may be able to find one online.
You can try to send her a letter with the questionnaire in it explaining that you Dr. is requesting info for your family and felt that she could help in this area. Tell her that you have some things going on in you life right now and direct contact wouldn't be good for you and your family right now.

I'm assuming you were adopted. If there was a lawyer involved, you could contact him and let him know that you daughter has medical issues that warrants the need for you to desire access to your family medical history.
Also, if there is any extended biological family that you might be able to ask about WHO your biological father is, that might be a route to go. Someone probably has a good idea who your bio father is......you just need to figure out who that someone is. It could be a bio grandparent, bio cousin, bio aunt. Ask around. Someone probably has a good idea.

Well, you could talk to the doctor that delivered you, to start with. He or she may remember you as a baby, and might be able to tell you how healthy your birth mother was. Because you said your daughter also has medical issues, I do think you have a right to know what your family history was. Good luck, and keep us posted!

Because medical records are confidential, you won't be able to view hers without her permission. If you could get her to sign a confidentiality waiver for you that would help. Otherwise, without dealing directly with her, you might try contacting any siblings she might have or her parents.
Other than that, I think you'd be left with genetic testing. Have a doctor run a thorough genetic test on you to see what types of recessive genes they might find--that would be the most expensive route to take though.

Sit her down and talk to her. You may not like it but it is the only way you will ever know the truth. You could also go to the hospitsl that you were born in and ask them for the information. It is best if you talk to you mom though.
