The evenings are not cold, you can get a little onshore breeze and might want a very lite sweater but that is about it. It's very warm and muggy in August, the worse weather Hawaii has...however that isn't saying much. Bad weather in Hawaii is better than good weather in most of the rest of the country.

The days are breezy and fairly warm. The average temp is 78 degrees and it never goes within 5 degrees of that. During the day I was comfortable most of the time in tank tops and shorts. But when we went to the upcountry and the mountains, I was cold and had to wear a hoodie. The evenings are much cooler. I had to wear a jacket each night I was there. Kauai gets more rain than Maui, so be sure to take a raincoat and some comfy shoes!

You will not need warm clothes that time of the year. Just bring maybe 1 pair of pants, and a light sweater, but it is pretty warm then , and all you really need is shorts, light tops, comfortable shoes, and do not forget your bathing suit. I live here on Maui , and have been to Kauai too, and we are always in the 80's, and the nights, in the summer are in the 70's, so you will be nice and comfortable at night and remember, it get's warm, during the day. If you are not used to the sun, bring plenty of protection. Ejoy, Aloha..................

You'll need to bring warm weather clothes for the days. NIghts will dip a bit lower but you'll probably be fine with a lightweight jacket (windbreaker type).
Day temps should be in the low 90's with night temps in the low 70's.
Have a great trip! Happy travels!

Evenings can be cooler but Hawaii is great because their temps don't generally change that much. Check weather.com in the two weeks preceding your vist for weather patterns. Temps can also depend on what you are used to - if lows 70's is cool to you then he evenings may be cool.
Enjoy the Islands! Aloha!

Hi,
In August you will have no problems with cool weather. This is one of the Hottest months in the islands. Best to bring a lot of shorts and swimsuits. You will spent a great deal of time cooling off in the water.

Probably summer clothes. It's kind of sticky here but it can get chilly due to the the winds blowing. And believe it or not but it does rain...so we have a big old rainbow of weather here in Hawaii...
