Why have americans allowed for the govenment WE created to own us, and destroy this country in only 231 years?

For the most part we have allowed ourselves to be lead around like sheep. We need to protest more, take action, I have tried to do my part by writing to congress, senate and the so called president about bills that are trying to pass that I feel would not be in the best interest of our country and urge them to pass bills that would help us, but; I'm only one person and I know there are others out there, just not enough. It seems most people have become passive and just close their eyes, and think they can’t do anything or maybe and horribly so, don’t want to do anything. We all need to ask ourselves how can we correct this problem peaceably, we all have to do our part even on a small scale would help. We are supposed to be the United States of America, I’m sorry to say it hasn’t felt that way in a very long time, we have become the divided states of America. That makes me so sad, our great country is going down, BUT WE THE PEOPLE can stand up and say WE’RE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE AND MEAN IT.

The words of the people, for the people and by the people are no longer valid, maybe they never were. It should read how can I pay back the people who put me in office.

First of all, the candidates running for office should have the same amount of money to run their campaigns, and not from the private sector, there should be a non-partisan fund.

Smear campaigns should not be allowed, just ''honest'' debates. I'm so tired of the commercials, and reading how bad the other candidates are, tell me what you will do to help this country, our country, and I want details and I want them sworn and signed. I've always been told get it in writing.


I also blame all the people who voted for Bush not once, but twice. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?

The powers that be knew how to at least try to impeach President Clinton, for bogus garbage, now Bush is doing to our country what Clinton did to Monica, but on a much grander and much deadlier scale.

When I wrote to Bush, I got a letter back, I was hoping for a picture, I needed a new dart board.

For the government to control the people it must control four things: 1: The military. 2: The finances. 3: A national police force. 4: The media. It would also help if it could disarm the population. While our right to bare arms has been stomped on, it has not been eliminated. And, the government does not yet control the press. Our founding fathers knew this and made provisions in the constitution. We're not yet "destroyed," but we're going in that direction.
