No, Christians are instructed to love all people, even enemies so I'm sure atheists fall in those groups.
In his time, the best comment Christ gave was to a pagan Roman officer (an occupier and worst than an atheist by today's standards) who asked Christ to heal his dying servant. The officer knew Christ could work miracles and said, " I am not worthy to recieve you but only say the word and he'll be healed." Christ said never had he seen so much faith, even amongst his own kind.

No, it isn't a sin to love an Atheist...nor is it a sin to love other groups of people. Christians are taught to "love thy neighbor." Yet they ALL hate someone! Being black, Jewish, gay, atheist, or what have you! Judge no one or you will be judged yourself! Shut up you Christians! Practice what you preach for once!

Do you mean marry or get romantically involved with an atheist? Many Christians would see that as being "unevenly yoked" and contrary to God's will for a believer.

No...

The standard Christian doctrine is:

"Love your neighbor as yourself"
not
"Love your neighbor provided s/he is not an Atheist."

Of course... you open a whole new can of worms when it comes to the question of:

"What is sin?"
.

No. We are supposed to love everyone. However, it is a sin to marry an atheist or to join in a business partnership with one, as you would be unequally yoked.

No, it is wrong not to love everyone. Christianity aside, Jesus said we must love all people no matter what.

No it is not a sin to love others who oppose themselves to you. Matter of fact, the bible teaches us to love those who hate us.
Lu 6:27

"But I say to you that hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you

And we do love you, we prove this by telling you about the love of God!
