Might be because the Flesh is weak but the will and spirit is strong in Christ?

What I see just from my being here is that Christians are insulted called derogatory names, are accused of many things yet they remain steadfast in there belief because Christ's spirit is superior than that of just human will and flesh?

The flesh will become weak and die, but the spirit always remains strong if you believe, what are your thoughts?

Are you clairvoyant, or just overly confident that God will never be eliminated from our world?

I don't agree with Christianity. I would never give them derogatory names though. They're going to believe what they want, I would never discriminate against them. I believe in Spirituality so I have a more personal relationship with God. and yes, I do believe that the spirit always remains strong if you believe. Good question. :)

Look again. Christians come, get disheartened and leave in droves. I don't imply all christians, by the way - there are some long served ones here. There are more agnostics here than christians and have been here a lot longer in most cases. The christian population of R&S is clearly fluid but the agnostics and atheists stick it out.

Sorry, but the evidence shows quite obviously that the flesh remains and the spirit withers.

Contrary to Christian belief none of us are trying to get rid of the Christian God. We just want to be able to worship the Gods and Goddesses that you are trying to get rid of. I'm so amazed that you would post such a statement when you are constantly telling the community that Christians are steadfast in their belief of your God.

So I take it that you are saying that because you can't be rid of all other Gods/Goddesses that your spirit is weak and that you don't trust your flesh to be exposed to other beliefs.

The god hypothesis is likely to linger simply because fallacies, false rhetoric, and emotional appeals are always more persuasive and compelling than reality or truth. Plus the whole threat of hell (Pascal's wager) is another motivating factor for some people.

Unfortunately, christians will continue to have the highest rates of social dysfunction of any group in the world (crime, murder, rape, divorce, stds, abortions, teen pregnancies, prejudice, intolerance, hatred, - you name it, they have it, and are statistically the largest contributors of evil in the world). Also christians will continue to push their hateful messages on other people as they try to control the country for their god. Remember that the most christian nation in history was arguably Nazi Germany (55% protestant, 40% catholic), and we all saw how well that went.

And if you find strength in stubborn and blind belief in something that shows no sign of being true but every indication of being false, then there's nothing I can do to help you. =P

No, the reason GOD will never be eliminated is because no GODS ever existed in the first place.

Nobody can prove any gods, much less a specific god, exist; many people will tell you their god exists but no others, but will never be able to prove it, even if they think so. Some will threaten you with eternal pain or promise eternal joy to get you to believe in their god; these are all stories, created for people who were scared long before we understood the universe. Now we have no more reason for these superstitions.

Yet we endure your insults and passive agressive questions, remain steadfast in our beliefs all without your Jesus

How do we do it?

You see how your generic statements can be applied to any group?

But you guys love to feel persecuted, don't you? Makes you think you're right - good for you

Genetically, many are predisposed to be followers. Leaders will always take advantage of whatever tools they can in order to control their flock. Fear of an omnipotent supernatural imaginary deity is such an obvious choice, that there's no reason for it to be eliminated, from the leaders' point of view.

you can instill a great deal of passion in a god... perfect for garnering a fighting force to vanquish your enemies.

Sweetie,

What I've seen of you is that you like to assume that you understand how other people think and feel. And that you don't like to be told that you didn't get it right. (That's based on a few dozen of your questions, answers and BA comments, so I will stand by it.)

What you seem to call 'remaining steadfast' looks more like refusing to listen to other people.

You're missing out on a lot of wisdom when you do that.

God doesn't exist.

Delusional thinking, however, is evidently still rampant in your community.

Religion will never be eliminated because there will always be at least ONE nutbag who will look at something that he/she doesn't understand and say, "This is amazing! God musta did it!" There will also always be people who can't deal with death, and have to believe in big elaborate stories about "life after death" to avoid facing reality.

No

Christianity will never cease to exist in the near future because it grew large through the same means as many contemporary major religions did, through violence and bloodshed. After a religion is large enough, it can count on the indoctrination of children to keep its traditions going for many years to come.
