Because people are mindless sheep that believe what people say and don't research it for themselves. It is a natural cycle!

Well, I do believe that the overwhelming production of greenhouse gases is harmful to our environment. However, the global warming thing has not been proved by any stretch of the imagination. The fact of the matter is that so many things affect the weather and we don't know that much. Moreover, temperature changes are not overwhelmingly dramatic. There are many times in history where the temperature increased and decreased at the same and even more dramatic paces. Much like the economy, the environment works in a cyclical pattern. Why would people believe anything that comes out of Al Gore's mouth about this. For god's sake, the man claimed to have invented the Internet. I bet you believe that too.

I am interested in climate change and wonder why there is not a study looking at the internal thermal gradient effects of heating the planet. The surface of the earth has an up side with atmosphere and a down side which is the very ground below our feet.

So far all of our models look only at the atmosphere and carbon dioxide which is only on one side of the surface. Example the human body generates its own heat, an extra blanket not only adds to the warmth kept in but allows the body to keep more of its own warmth in by not loosing it.

The earth is a producer of its own internal heat, that is what I was taught in school many years ago.
Not one of our models look at internal heating and our planet is warming faster than all the models that predict effects only above the surface.

Heat up the planet sure the water level rises, but now try heating under the Antarctic ice not just from above and while we are at it lets look at our body again. Blood in the morning is thicker and more of a health risk until we have completed our first hour of movement and it flows more freely.

If this same deal applies to the earth more free flowing magma below let's talk volcanoes and plate movement with all the resulting earthquakes and tidal waves that result. I live in Australia and a tiny amount of the new budget has been allocated to climate change so our current response is in short a joke, a monstrous joke, hopefully one that we won't live to regret.

The observed facts are pretty stark. There currently isn't a working model that is accurately forecasting why the ice is disappearing at the rate it is. Truth, it is serious, very serious.

Why the concern? Because it is our world, the only one we have and it appears to be needing help.

Are you seriously asking this question to find out, or is this just bait for flaming?

There are hundreds of experiments and scientific papers that support the global warming theory, but only very few that show the opposite. The scientific consensus about GW is almost unanimous that it exists. If you have prove against it, show it.

The question whether Humans cause GW is a bit more controversial, but the majority of scientists also think that GW is caused largely by humans.

Don't believe what the newspapers tell you. Harvard conducted a survey and found out that the press grossly distorts the scientific facts because it is controversy that sells papers or because the newspapers think they need to give the "underdog" (people who claim GW doesn't exist) more exposure.

It's not "phony baloney". Global warming is for real. A large part of it is occurring naturally. But, man has pushed it forward tremendously with all the things we are doing to our atmosphere.

go tell all the ghost who are there because of global warming that it was not real ,they are not dead it was all Phony Balony

HOW CAN PEOPLE NOT BELIEVE ,
THAT IS WHAT IS UNBELIEVEBLE

What about desertification due to deforrestation ,but speeded up by unusual hot Suns.
Water shortage .Rising seas
Croploss due to temperature changes ,
Heat and cold weaves that are killing people .
Flasfloods .

Mass exstinction of Flora and fauna ,many animals are becoming sick because of SMALL changes in temperature .
Insects are affected and some are going out of control such as the parasites that are killing the bees.
Vital links in the food chains are disapearing affecting other species further along in the chain.
We are witness to a mass exstinction ,for the first time since the dinosaurs, of the earth's estimated 10 million species, 300,000 have vanished in the past 50 years. each years, 3,000 to 30,000 species become extinct.
Everything is happening so fast it is not possible to monitor things any more.

just for fun i asked a question in polls and surveys and again in religion
who thought Global warming was a lie ,and who was religious .

granted many people who believed in God and also believed in climate change .

but
the fact emerged that ALL of the people who denied Global warming ,who said it was a hoax ,were without any exceptions ,religious

FACT OR FICTION
many People are used to fiction and they feel more comfortable with fairytales instead of the truth.

Many blindly believe that our fate is in Gods hands ,and their focus is on the beautifull heaven.
------------------------------...
World leaders are not too concerned with the well being of the masses ,on the contrary .it was stated at a conference in Copenhagen,in 1998,by an American statesman , that the Agenda demanded a decrease in the world population of 60%,and you cannot achieve this if you start saving everybody.

Scientists who get paid by politicians have downplayed the facts because solutions are expensive and means change .

Change effects many peoples incomes, and upsets profit margins,so most of the world is kept in the dark of the real things that are going on.for political and economic reasons .

HOWEVER CLIMATE CHANGE IS FACT FOR MILLIONS
Global warming is a very complex collection of many effects

This text only covers some aspects of global warming mainly man made desertification
Industrial contamination ,the contaminating effects of the cities ,is another story

There are natural cycles in the planets life
but mans existance has its effects, and this is increasing with overpopulation, putting strains on Natural resources and increasing contaminations as well as destructions of essential componants the ensure living conditions for all life forms.

In North Africa,India,Mexico ,millions of people are effected by land loss and desertification and some have died as a result.

In china, thousands of what used to be farmers are running for their lives from the dust storms, that have burried their towns and turned their lands into dessert.

The Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year
and many of the desserts we know are a results of mans actions ,and they are increasing ,in the dinosaurs days ,there were very few desserts.

Collectively this planet is drying up because of bad farming practices like, over grazing and fertilizers,

Each degree rise in temperature means 10%crop loss

There is less and less water (because of deforestation),to irrigate this production ,
and there are less and less farmers to do it..

Each year 70 million more people have to eat and drink and wash

Farmers are plowing more and more unstable lands because they have lost so many million hectares to desertification ,because of bad farming practises ,such as using fertilizers and heavy machinary , over grazing, overpumping deep carbon aquifiers.

RISING SEAS
The northpole is melting ,and we will know it without ice in our life times.
This does not affect the sea level because it is ice that is already in the water.

The melting ice from Green land and the south pole ,are another matter.

if forrest are being exchanged for ashalt, concrete and desserts, what is gonna keep this planet habitable for us.

We as humanity can behave in a less stressful manner as far as the Environment is concerned ,but it will mean global co operation between all countries ,and taking into account human nature and the world politics ,it is unlikely that this will happen.

Because it is a fully valid scientific theory and is supported by mountains upon mountains of evidence. If you wish to claim otherwise I would love to see your evidence supporting this position.

because the earth's temperature is rising. even if there were no humans, the temperature would be rising. The thing is that humans are accelerating the rise in tempearature. other than that, it's a natural earth cycle.
