I waited for answers before writing this.
I went to a mass spiritual meeting two months after my son died.
I did not pay to get in and the visiting Spiritualist lived 350 miles from me so he could have no way of knowing who I was or that I was going to attend.
My son contacted him and explained details of his passing, the days before the funeral and changes that were made in the eulogy two days before the funeral. He described the church service and said he liked the way that although the gloomy music was played at the service he enjoyed the lively music when we all left.
He also said that only two people were going to attend the meeting but at the very last minute someone else, non-family, had joined them and was present at the meeting.
No doubt someone will find fault with that; it`s a foregone conclusion.
And, by the way, although I`m a none-believer in god or christ, I felt I had to attend the service out of sympathy for his wife and children.
I have had other experiences.

Does anyone else have such positive stories of proof to tell?
If so, please do so, and confound thos non-believers in Spiritualism.

For JEANCOMM.
We inherit the sins of our ancestors???
Where do you learn this rubbish?
My father was as stupid as well. He noticed that the son of an unmarried had a red blotch on his face, he said: "That`s God`s punishment because she is not married."
We non-believers have to put up with this rubbish and are castigated for it.
Sensible answers only, please!!

Hi there, yes I am a spiritualist medium and I have absolute proof that the soul or spirit lives on when it leaves the earthly body and goes to spirit world. There is absolutely no question of the validity of it although people try to say that we are being contacted by demons and that we will go to Hell because we belong to Satan! Everyone will know the truth when they depart this earth and those who don't believe are in for a great big shock! I have never been happier since I believe and practised spiritualism and have contact with the souls who have passed over.

Most Spiritualists I know, say it's not a belief in Spiritualism, it's a knowing.

As a Spirtitualist, I KNOW that there is life after death, and that we can communicate with them. The proof that I personally have had goes beyond just having a message from a medium up on the platform. As a medium myself I have played a small part in provinding that proof for others, but the most amazing evidence I have seen is through what we call "physical mediumship".

I have seen loved ones transfigure over mediums face, this is where ectoplasm will form a mask over the mediums face and it will form the features of someone in the Spirit world. You can't doubt that kind of evidence, no trickery envolved, mediums that I know and trust, sitting so near that I am holding the mediums hands.........and feel the hands change in my own grasp.

But there is so much more to Spiritualism than Spirit communication, we have the most beautiful philosophy too, Spiritualism is a way of life, we live it every minute of every day.

As a Spiritualist, my life has more meaning, and is far richer.

According to Wikipedia...

"Spiritualism is a religious movement that began in the United States and was prominent in the 1840s–1920s, especially in English-speaking countries. The movement's distinguishing feature is the belief that the spirits of the dead can be contacted by mediums. These spirits are believed to lie on a higher plane of existence than humans, and are therefore capable of providing guidance in both worldly and spiritual matters."

Do I believe that people can speak with spirits? Simple answer... Yes.

As a practitioner of what we term one of the Old Religions... many that walk a similar path as I have a connection to Ancestors, those that have been in this life and in past lives ancestors to us. Those ancestors tend to guide us and protect us and warn us...

As a teacher of Solitary Eclectic Wicca, I teach or guide those that wish too... to learn to speak with their own spirit guides... or what some may refer to as guardian angels.

Do I believe you have to be a medium or a spiritualist... to speak with spirits? NO. I believe it is an ability granted to every individual on this earth... even those that do not believe in it! I do however believe it is EASIER to connect with spirits if you BELIEVE in them and that you CAN do it.

Do I ask for anyone else to believe as I do... NO, I am simply sharing my own thoughts and reply on this question.

Warm Blessings

After reading the question again... I thought to add... you asked about provable...

One of the first times I personally spoke with a spirit... I did not know the spirit, but discovered that a fellow that was in the room with me DID. Due to my conversation with the spirit I obtained information that only the spirit in quesiton and the other person would have known... like a nick name for coffee they shared... who nick names coffee? Anyway, there were a few other things such as the spirit told me about a picture that was in the fellow pocket of HIM and lo and behold... the guy knew what I was talking about... it had been one of his BEST friends and a fellow band memeber... and the spirit needed the guy to know something... and he shared it through me.

Now, this is only PROOF to the one that knew the facts... that I found in my possession without having been told previously. HOpe that helps some?

I do believe in it and I also had many experiences. There is something beyond our knowledge and understanding. One of my professors shared an event that occurred when his mother passed away. She was in a different state and he did not know that she had passed away. She was a healthy person so he was not even thinking about it. He told me that he saw his mother and felt her presence around at the time of her death. It had happened many years ago but it was still so vivid.
A psychiatrist did some research about the experience of people who had near death experience or dying. I want to add that those experiences were the same for all different believers. Our neighbor's teenage daughter got very sick and while she was in the hospital she told her relatives there to move away so that her dead grandparents and a few other loved ones could come in. At that age people do not even think about these things. She was a in the 8th or the 9th grade. The psychiatrist who did the research was at the other end of the world and many people had similar experiences that the loved ones come to get them.
Do you want to share your experiences? I really want to know.

Well to be blunt .... yes... but it is not a gift nor should it be messed with! My great grandad was a spiritualist and practised this in the family home as a business.. where my own mother had seen many of strange things as a child... problem is... he saw "things" my nan, grandad, mum and her sister all have had at some point a strange experience that was not called on by anyone of them. Funny you mention spirits... but are against comments on why and who put them there! Without that question you will never have an answer! My answer to you is don't ask if you don't want to know!

I know the human brain to be a wonderful tool & suspect we have abilities not yet identified. As an old computer AI researcher I've concluded we are at least 50 yrs away from getting enough information on how the brain works to build something that has the ability of a dog when it comes to decision making.
The fact that no 2 brains are exactly alike or even arrive at decisions in exactly the same way is also disheartening when one attempts to understand the power or decision making process that goes on in the brain. (Chuckle) We humans tend to attribute anything we do not understand to "spiritualism" or some deity. This is because humans are wonderfully curious, but just plain lazy when seeking answers to that which they do not understand.

Er, yes there is a very very large question about it's validity, actually! You use the word 'provable' - provable how? I'm sure you had an intense subjective experience, but what actual proof have you? Anecdotes are not evidence!

If you have proof of the existence of the paranormal, then you are eligible for the one million dollars offered by the James Randi Educational Foundation - I'll nominate you! Even if you don't want the money, think of the good you could do with it!

I do and I believe we can all be spiritual without being a part of a certain religion. It doesn't take a religion to love other people and God.

I do not beleive in Spiritualism and there is absolotely no validity in it at all as there are no facts, evidence or proof.

Ask yourself this; does it get taught in schools - no, because its not real.

is it ever used in a court of law- no, because its not real.

Is it simply a breeding ground for con artists praying from the gullible and irrationally minded - yes, because its not real.
