Well... what does your fiance like? My fiance is into Hockey so I plan on getting him a hockey jersey. Something unique. I also thought about getting him a personalized license plate with our initials in it so that when we get married, we can put it on one of our cars. Something from the heart is always best. I don't know where you live but... if you are aloud pets, why not a puppy or a kitten?
What ever you decide to get... for better or for worse, your fiance will love you. Let your gift come from the heart.

Wait... you're supposed to give your fiancee a gift on the day of the wedding???? I'm getting married in about a month and had absolutely no clue about this.

A gift is not necessary - My husband and I did not exchange gifts. We went to the jewelry store and picked out our wedding rings together (we considered that the gift, choosing together) and saved whatever money we were going to spend on a gift - for our honeymoon in Hawaii.

But if a gift is something you really want to do - Agreed, you will know your fiance better than anyone else - but buying a gift for each other for your wedding/engagement is bigger than a bday gift.

So probably something engraved with her new last name on it - Its so cool to get something with the new last name on it for the first time - make yours her first! ;)

Maybe a nice frame - engraved with both yours and her name with the last name or just the last name - so she can put her favorite wedding picture in it!

Good luck to you - hope you find what you're looking for!

I am very close to my mom, and wouldn't have a problem asking her to do it. She came with me to choose my wedding night lingerie! However, I think i'd rather hire a stranger to do it, because I'd be able to "ham it up" a little more for the camera if my mom wasn't behind it. It might be hard to give the appropriate "come hither" look to the camera if its being held by my mom. (nobody has to know who took the pictures. this isn't something the whole family would discuss over thanksgiving dinner or anything.)

If it's the bride give her a spa pass or a piece of jewlrey. If you're on a budget get her a nice card with something sentimental written inside with a rose. For a guy you can get his sports stuff, a watch or a handkerchief.

Give him or her something that ties in with your 'after wedding' plans...a bottle of champagne or flowers, massage oil, chocolates, slippers. Or something to wear in the wedding like cufflinks or a lapel pin. Think creatively and attach a note that says something to the effect of 'can't wait to marry you...see you at the cermony and for the rest of our lives' or 'can't wait for the after party'
