I do understand where you are coming from. Actually weight should not matter however for many guys it does. I really think that guys make more of a issue of weight when it changes. If a man meets a woman and begins the relationship with her at a certain weight he sort of expects her to stay the same weight or close to. I will admit this is a double standard however being a guy I can see why they think this way. A male is more visual than anything. Men are visually stimulated, this is why so many guys make the mistake in their relationship with a woman who only has one thing to offer. Whereas women are more sensible in their escapades. This is why women are able to actually get away with cheating more than men. I personally don't care about my woman gaining weight while we are together as long as she doesn't gain where it get out of hand and can be a health issue. You local doctor will tell you if you are over weight for your body type or not. I do also understand that 20 years from now it won't matter, however it still will. Men are visual being until death. Unfortunately it's just one of those things you have to deal with. There is someone out there who also doesn't care about weight so much. There is someone for everyone. I was a bit under-weight which was my problem because women would look at me like"eww you so skinny", or" you ain't got NO meat on your bones." Yeah pretty embarrassing but you know what, I found my special someone and my dear you will too. I hope this helps.

Blame the media for this epidemic. The more often that the print and news media, including television shows and movies single out the "BBW/BHM"s of the world as not being attractive, the longer it is going to be before it's realized that looks arent really that important.

I for one don't really care about weight ( I'm 5'9" 315lbs) and actually prefer a woman who is thick as opposed to some barbie doll im afraid im going to break.

FACT: Marilyn Monroe was a size 14!!!! and Jayne Mansfield was a size 16. and those were both Pin-Up Models that guys drooled over in the 50's & 60's. Cleopatra would have been a size 20 and Mona Lisa a 24.

I think there are two answers to this question. The first is that weight and looks for a woman are societal. What do we see in the States everyday concerning women? Petite, blond, etc. The second answer is, I believe, nature. Have you ever watched Discovery channel shows about humans and the mating game? From an instinctual point of view (for men) a certain female shape is desirous for reproduction. Unfortunately overweight is not that shape. This is my 2 cents.

Actually, what he is thinking is that 20 years later she will be 20 lbs heavier (people tend to gain weight, not lose it, as they grow older).

Having said that, I don't think that boys worry about a girls weight as much as the girl does. It is the women who get all bent out of shape over 5 lbs here or there, not the guys. Men want a woman who looks "healthy", and who will still be alive and healthy 20 years from now. Too fat, or too skinny, implies that she will have major health problems down the road, and will probably become a burden to her family who now has to take care of her, and pay for all the extra medical treatments.

Well, most guys dont want to be outweight by their partner. Lol. Granted, thats kinda hard for me since i'm only 120, but the thing is, maybe guys wanna be able to pick up their gf's and stuff? I personally dont really care about weight. But the girl has to show that she cares about herself healthwise. That means no obese or anorexic girls.

well... to be atractive to some one you need to have something that atract... so many men like to find a woman that have the fat in the right places... but... if you are slim before marry and get weight after you husband don't take that in consideratioin after you be more heavy that him... also if you slim you suppose be health... than a heavy person... but I need to defend the man here... no every man like slim girls.. you can find some man that like heavy woman too... but is not the rule... so if bother you so much... start lose weight... is my best suggestion

good luck

Why don't people understand? There HAS to be initial physical attraction in order to start a relationship.
Why else would you talk to someone you don't know? I know we all wish we could be judged at first by who we are inside instead of how we look, but thats just not reality.

You haven't found the right guy...boys are brought up to think a certain body type is sexy. It is the same with women the "barbie" image is pushed down our throats from the day we are born. We need to change the definition of SEXY.

You'll find a man who appreciates your curves...just keep looking and don't settle for less!

some women care about the guy's weight as well. it is a world of different inclinations. hey in the middle east, 70 years ago, men used to like overweight women..hundreds of years ago they wrote poetry for over-weight women..

Yes, it will matter in 20 years from now. I don't want my wife to look like a fat cow!
