my nana was told she would never concieved as her womb was titlted. at the Age of 29 she finally concieved my mother (her only child).
when i had my first scan when pg with my daughter i to was told that my unterus was tilted in an awkwrd position making it hard for sonagapher to make my baby out.
i never thought any more of it until the other day. my daughter was found to be posterior from at least 35 weeks... but then told in hospital 3 times during labaour that i had dialted during examination, when infact this was not the case but the baby being posterior and not my cervix. as a result i was left unnessasarily for a further 13 hours because they thought there was progression when they wasn't.

could this have been why, having a tilted womb this had occured??? i did all my excersises to try and and get her in the correct position prior. so it seems a little odd, i hardly ever sat down.
and
what could this mean for future pg's???
any info would be welcomed
lucy

I don't know, but I have a tilted uterus. I never had any problems conceiving or during my pregnancy or birth. I did have an ultrasound at 10 weeks to confirm the due date and because of my tilted uterus they had to do a vaginal ultrasound instead of an abdominal one, but that was the only "problem" I had with it. I don't know if it caused your problems, but I don't think that you will necessarily have any problems with future pregnancies.

I also have a tilted uterus and both my kids were vaginal deliveries. I do not know about the posterior issue, but neither of mine were, and my uterus is far back and tilted, so it may have just been the way your baby settled. I do not think it will mean your next will be the same way, I would recommend you see an OBGYN with your next, if you did not with the first. I had family doctor for both of mine but given the problem you had they may be a little more experienced with that sort of thing.
Just a note of encouragement, I had a hard (not long) delivery with my first, my cervix would not go from 9 1/2 to 10 so the doctor had to force it to get her out, very painful and the stupid nurse would not listen to me, she kept saying your a first time mom, you don't need checked yet, and by the time she actually did it, it was too late for an epidural. With my second it was a breeze I had no problems at all, and I got the epidural that time. So your next baby may be a much better experience as far as labor etc. goes.
