Yup. The return of jesus has been expected for so long, though, that the Atheists have learned to waste their time doing other stuff, like having a life and a good job and working on whichever everyone perceives as the "sabbath" even though it's well-known that anyone who does work on such a day are to be killed.

Some people just want to be the ones who are right all the time. And yes, I suspect there are a few groups who try to use scripture to "force" people into something.
The truth is those Bible thumpers ought to read their own book. Jesus said that no one would know the day and hour and that we should be focusing on living the right way here and now and not worry about that which we cannot know.
Go figure.

The truth is, the second coming was not possible until the rebirth of the nation of Israel, which occurred on 5-14-48. And was prophesied by Ezekiel 2,060+ years before it happened.
Its also been 40 years since the recapture of Jerusalem by the IDF in 1967. I believe we are living in interesting times.
What do you believe?

They never learn.
They also don't understand that when you read a 2,000 year old book that claims "The End is Near" it means the authors were wrong.

I think people sometimes wish they could be rescued from all the stress and responsibilities of life. It's understandable... but it never happens.
